As much as I'll miss Gator (assuming he's REALLY dead and not dead like he was that week on Infected when Jay Adelson co-hosted), I think it'll be interesting to see Jay play himself on the show.
From Twitter
martinsargent Oh, and this time he's really gone. Gator, I'll miss you.

I'll just imagine him wearing the gator costume... that's all I have left...
Why did you have to send him out on assignment Marty? WHHHHYYY?
Internet Superstar 2.0 better not suck...

well, it could also be a new move to get Jay to star in his own show, so its a big move for him, but, Gator is dead, somewhat, I mean, Jay is his "cousin from the city" as he so aptly put it, so I mean he has Gator-esqe appeal and style, just more suited toward city life instead of the life of a coutnry drifter

It just wont be the same.
Pedophile glasses, awesome trucker-cap, jumpsuit and a redneck... everything a man is suppose to wear/be.
Oh why rev3... why?!

internet superstar is like a version of infected from another dimension in the multiverse. perhaps there's a probability gator wont come back. things may not happen the same way from this alternate perspective.
or perhaps infected was merely a demo tape to promote the full length LP known as internet superstar. whatever the case, i'm just hoping we don't get internet superstar 5.0 where G4 puts kevin rose on as the host. the show seems to be at its best right now.

Jay's a funny guy with or without Gator. Don't know how this will turn out, since Gator was his best character, but I'm interested to see how this goes. One thing I loved about Infected/ Superstar was the "wall" it broke by having a "character" as co host. It wasn't stupid, it was original, and made reality a little more palatable. Spontaneous humor will always be hit or miss, and when Gator was on he was REALLY on. Still, I've always felt Internet Superstar could be better, so maybe this is a step in the right direction? Martin and Jay are very talented, so I'm sure they'll come up with something good. Oh, and I'm sure we'll see Gator again in some capacity. ;)

Marty, if you're thinking about burying Gator up in the old pet cemetery, just be careful. You don't always get back what you put in the ground.

Maybe this leaves room for Ricky Kang?
Seriously though, maybe Moujan and Jay are gonna finally have their own show...
