That was a pretty big geekdom moment. Disappointing.
Also, way to go not posting the Q and A.

I'm pretty sure he said it would probably be in next week's episode.

it's so sad to think of the x-files movie being shit :( in my mind the series is up on a glowing pedestal so everything related to it should be amazing

really? I don't recall too many people being that excited for it. Most people who liked the show seemed to more along the lines of "meh" or "a little late" or even "we'll see"...but not many were hyped or excited enough for it to be considered much of a geekdom moment.
Besides, the show was rather full as it was...maybe they'll mention it next episode (and they said they were putting the Q&A in the next episode also.)

Yea X-Files has kinda been dead for a while. The movie seemed to be just a way to kick up some more $$$. The Franchise is dead.
And plus Comic Con was like HUGE - to get everything they would have needed a whole network of coverage - which they didn't have.
SO lighten up :-D

I'm sure they would have talked at length about the X-Files movie if anyone actually cared about the X-Files anymore...

I'm sure people would have cared about X-Files if the trailer was effective, but most people I know said it looked dull. The pre-release buzz about the film was pretty weak, and the movie itself was pretty dull.

i saw the x-files and everybody is right except for the OP the movie was terrible. well actually ill say it was an average thriller type movie except that its supposed to be an x-files movie. where (spoilers) there are no aliens in this movie and it has nothing to do with continuing the storyline from where the series left off. if anything they tried to make not in continuity. scully and mulder arent together at the beginning of the movie, or are in limited contact. i think a good storyline would be them continuing the fight against the aliens with plenty of action.(spoilers over) i want the micheal bay x-files not the chris carter long episode on the big screen x-files. if i wanted to watch them solve a crime with mysterious circumstances i would watch the bloody show for free at home. i will say awesome dog at the end of the movie though. and yes the spoilers were ment as a joke

Honestly, the rushed way they talked about the Avatar finale bothered me more.

...would that mean we'd get a Poltergeist movie with robots but no ghosts, too?

Well Terminator did say he would be back and in Poltergiest she did say at one point "they're back"
So quite possible.

I use to watch x-files loyally, but I have no desire to see this movie. I will see it, but that is mainly because I am obsessive. I frankly think that the new Mummy movie will be better than the x-files movie.
If the movie is actually good, then fine, talk about it. But honestly, I would prefer not to hear about a bad X-Files. It will just seem like going to go see a band that use to kick ass back in the 70s and 80s but because they are so old now, it is hard to watch them since they still seem to think they are sexy. (Yes, I am calling you out Mick, you are too old to do that thrust).

They're under no requirement to cover every geek moment.

Wow, they decided to devote an entire segment to the admittedly terrible mummy movie and not one word about the X-Files.
