Would you guys still watch Diggnation if they had no Digg stories and just talked about whatever? I personally would.

I don't watch for the stories. I watch for the random ramblings and drunkenness.

The real question is would Digg insist on these two staying if/when Digg is sold off? Kevin can deny all day that the company isn't being sold, but if you throw enough money at them, they will sell.

Me too, I personally would just love to hear the hilarious relationship conversations.

I don't watch for the stories. I watch for the random ramblings and drunkenness.

The random ramblings are one of the best assets of the show, and I enjoy how casual the show is as well. Also, I find it interesting that the stories they cover from Digg often lead them to discussions about other seemingly unrelated topics. You just never know what you're going to get with each episode...

Diggnation is about Digg stories?!It might have been once ... but that is now just a source of opening discussion.

It could just as easilly be:
FarkNation
SlashNation
CNNNNNNation
FauxNation
or ColbertNation

I think as Digg has changed (fewer pure tech stories, more general news etc) Diggnation changed along with it. Some might argue Digg isn't Digg anymore, and with that, Diggnation obviously isn't about Digg anymore. I'd say that whatever setting or context you place Diggnation within, it will always fall back on its strengths, which obviously is Alex and Kevin sitting around, drinking beers and shooting the breeze on whatever. Which is what makes it such an excellent show.

well, i would keep watching, provided they keep things interesting. I so no reason why would-be digg buyers want the show to stop or change. There might be licensing issues where the 'digg brand' would then be owned by someone not also affiliated with revision3.com - but im sure it would be quickly resolved.

diggnation is what got digg to blow up imo. the first viewers that flocked were mostly likely old tech tv fans, and then things snowballed. If you watch the first episodes, digg count (of talked about stories) is almost always below 500 - and in a matter of just a few episodes, those numbers more than triple, if not quadruple.

all this talk does make me wonder though, as i was just about to post in a new thread, what everyone thinks the future of diggnation is ? Kevin & Alex are in their 30s now, proprioties will change and relating to an audience made up of much younger members might proove more and more difficult. Not to mention the recent hickups about their financial situation..

Do you think the show would stop altogheter if [when] one of the host decides to move on to other things? Would they prepare for that or just pull the plug on the show if the guys dont feel like doing it anymore ? ... Would *you* still watch diggnation if one or both the hosts changed ? (of course that depends on who but you get my point)..

(note i might have too much free time to be pondering about things like that ;p)

Absolutely. I really don't check Digg too much anyways. I just love Kevin and Alex, and I think the way they ramble and drift off on tangents is part of their charm. :D
