Just got done watching it. Thumbs up. I dont want to give too much away, but its much better if you ask me then The Ark of Truth. I liked TAT but this just had a better feel and more compelling story. Plus the fight scene over the N. Atlantic was so cool. Well worth the money and i really hope they make more of these. It was a nice wrap up if you ask me of the story of SG-1 too. Im not sure where it can go from here, but after seeing this one, i know this. I just cant get enough of SG-1.

Now i know some of you arent atlantis fans and i feel ya, atlantis has yet to rise to SG-1's level. But really, if you want a good sci fi movie check it out. Support one of the longest running sci fi shows that has contributed so much to the rise of some of your other fav shows. And if your a Stargate fan in general, all i can say is it was worth it. Was a good plot, well done special effects and a enjoyable movie that lives up to any episode of SG-1 i remember seeing. All i can say to prove my endorsement is that when it was done, i got that little pit of sadness in my stomach that i did when i watched the end of season 10. The feeling that something really great is done and i want more but cant have it. But there were talks of a 3rd movie, so who knows :)

Anyway, anyone seen it? Like it dont like it ?

Also, i would like to know if TRS would ever do a SG-1 wrap up of the series. Hell maybe even a sci fi segment where they touch on all the bst shows like farscape and sg-1 and all the others that are groovy. Just a thought.

haven't seen this yet, or TAT actually :( got lost somewhere about season 8 i think, really need to catch up.

but regarding your other point, i'd love to see a sci-fi centric tv segment on the show (bit of a sci-fi nerd :))

I liked Continuum, for the most part, it is a far superior movie to The Ark of Truth, but then again The Ark of Truth was such a horrible disappointment that saying that doesn't really mean much. I think the Stargate franchises work far better as TV series than they do as movies, I am enjoying season 5 of Atlantis much more than these movies, maybe the third movie will blow me away, but I doubt it.

I definitely liked Continuum more than Ark of Truth, partly because I went to the Continuum panel at Comic-Con where they talked about the making of it, frozen poop stories and all, and where I also learned just how much of a goofball Richard Dean Anderson is. (Of course, I wish I could have seen the premiere they had on the aircraft carrier the night before.)

Continuum felt more like an actual movie unlike AoT which felt like its only purpose was to complete the Ori arc. Although Continuum's story is self-contained, it throws out so many fun references to (and surprise cameos from) the series that it makes it a fun ride for any viewer, longtime fan or no. Thinking about it now, I wonder if the new X-Files movie can make the same claim since I haven't seen it yet.

Anyway, I don't wish to spoil it for those who have yet to watch, but the "what-ifs" Continuum posits were definitely my favorite parts. The only thing that would have made it better (which goes for the series as a whole) is more O'Neill!

I saw it about a month ago. I'd say it was better than TAT, though I kind of felt that where kind of writing themselves into a corner with the Ori story, as far as wrapping it up nicely in ~2 hours.

As for Continuum, it's a good wrap up of Baal's storyline. I'd definitely say it's very much an extended episode, as you basically need to know the Baal story line to understand this. Don't get me wrong, you might enjoy it without seeing SG-1. However, I wouldn't call it a stand alone movie. Which might be why I enjoyed it, too many times with series that release a movie they have t recover ground very quickly to get people up to speed. IMO, This just felt like a continuation of Season 10.

To me the production seemed a little better too. Did anyone else sit up and smile when the fight over the atlantic happened? That was a pretty awesome part right there. Not mind blowing, michael bay, megatron vs prime, but it was a nice scene.

But to bring up atlantis real quick...

Anyone see it last night? I have to say it was one of the better episodes in a while. The problem with atlantis is that its a rad premise, but it just doesnt feel utilized or something. I dont know, it has changed, wraith arent a problem, beckett died and was brought back purely on fan demand, they flew atlantis. I dont know it just seems they focus too much on the characters and not as much on the story of the atlantis. The fun with SG-1 is that they grew technologically. Met new aliens, it was more about the story of us exploring the galaxy.

But last night with atlantis we got to meet a new alien and im really hoping that they become part of the storyline. While the wraith grew on me, they just seemed cheesy at have just been a little weird. I think the bottomline is the costumes. Just too over the top and weird. Atlantis always has had a slighter lower budget feel too it too. But last night it just felt like a really good sci fi show. Like its finally coming into its own. I hope it keeps up and its doesnt go back too developing characters too much. Thats the main flaw of BSG is its too much drama and not enough action, in my opinion anyway.

Anyway, it was a good day for a stargate fan like me yesterday. Good atlantis and good sg-1 movie :)

I was lucky enuff to see Both early as a friend of mine does post production work. Friends in the tv/movie industry can be kool. He has also worked on Homicide:Life on the Street (even used my scanner to create some of he main props (had to photoshop pictures provided by the actor in a show where there were supposed to be twins), Species 2 and afew others.
Continuum was def. better than Ark altho both seemed more like an extended episode than a feature movie... Good fun seeing them back again.
"Indeed"...

Why the hell are you people abbreviating The Ark of Truth as TAT?!

Its AoT. AoT!!!

Continuum was better than AoT, but AoT suffered from the fact that it had to wrap up the story of the series.

Con. is more of a stand alone. It's more like just a 2 hour episode of the show.

Ark of Truth suffered from the fact that it wrapped up the Ori arc with a stupid ark that made people see the truth...

Anyone know anything about the 3rd movie? I know it was in flux as to wether it would be made or not. I think the first movie sold well and the second movie is better then the first, so hope it sells well too.

I liked Continuum, and definitely liked it better than AoT, but at the same time, I was also kind of disappointed by it. I'm not sure if I was just expecting too much, but the ending just seemed a little bit too neatly resolved. You'd think that I'd be used to contrived plot devices by now, being a Stargate fan for all 10 of its seasons, but this one just seemed a bit harder to swallow than the usual "ancient weapon in the nick of time" resolution.

That gripe aside, I still liked it quite a bit, particularly O'Neill's inclusion. I also liked that Mitchell was basically the hero of the episode. In a way, he pulls a
"reverse-Undending." That was a nice touch.

I plan on watching it soon.

Speaking of Stargate I didn't know Don Davis had died just a little over a month ago. :(

I haven't heard anything in a long time. The last thing I heard was a rumor about it being an intro movie for the Stargate Universe series.

If I have a problem with this movie, its that Jack's involvement is...peripheral at best, and a cameo at worst. Especially when the commercial makes it seem like he's central.
