AppleTV Help Needed...

... I have a lot of files that only exist on my AppleTV now (my laptop's hard drive broke and I had to replace it). I'm afraid if I associate it with my 'new' laptop that all previoius data will be lost. Most of my music is backed up, but I have quite a bit of TV shows I bought from iTunes that aren't backed up anywhere. Is there a way to retrieve this data and save it back to my laptop?

You certainly could physically remove the hard drive from the Apple TV and read it with a Mac or Linux. For Windows to read it you will need some thing like TransMac (http://www.acutesystems.com/scrtm.htm).
