All this talk has made me wonder: Do you think an artist would allow you to commission him/her to do a mugg ?
Because I would get a blank and give it a try.

Wow there is one going for over $40 + $6.50 shipping with 4 hours left, hold on to your Venom if you have one. Looks like that is the hot figure out of the first set.

I had never seen/heard of these Mighty Muggs before today. Maybe once, but I thought they were talking about coffe mugs.... whoops.
There are some pretty cool ones. Thor is on my list. I might get Ult. Cap when that comes out. Possibly Lando 'cause that sweet eyebrow action. But other than that, I'm not big into Star Wars or Transformers, or even GI Joe. All before my time, I guess.
Personally, I wanna see a Nick Fury mugg, cigar included. That might just be too cool for words.
Also, although already mentioned, Daredevil would be pretty sweet.
Oooh, Nova! I think I'd get a Nova, or a Rocket Racoon mugg. Possibilities are endlees, no?

Star Wars and Transformers are just eternal though. So that IS strange and weird and unethical and sort of unacceptable.

I was actually contemplating looking for a Soundwave the other day. Decided against it when I realized it wasn't Soundwave I wanted, I want the cassettes!
I loved those Transformer cassettes more then most of my toys. I had all the Dinosaur ones and I would pose them along my bookcase. Damn, what I wouldn't give to find a set of those!
I think I still have my old Soundwave and MAYBE Ravage. I'd have to go poke around in my parents attic.
Megatron is really hard to find because he was made pretty filmsily. He broke extremely easily and pretty much everyone I knew who had one had theirs break in one way or other.
At some point I'll pick up the entire Masterpiece Transformers collection.
Also: The dinobots were awesome, I had all of them but Grimlock.

And now you see why I haven't posted in ages. Star Wars, Thundercats, Transforers.... all meh. Could care less. But I dug Ninja Turtles, as well as Power Rangers. I was more obsessed with Batman, Terminator, and Robocop as a kid. Anything filled with (human sized) robots would suffice.

The masterpiece Megatron is pretty sweet!
I only had Grimlock (Grimlock King!) of all the Dinobots and I'd pit him against the lame robots that transformed into, of all things, rocks. Anybody remember those? I can never remember their names. I had really lame family members...no MASK or Dino-Riders or even, ugh, Go-Bots.....just robots that tranform inanimate, uncool pieces of earth.

I have a bunch of MASK toys in the basement, I've got to clean up a bit before taking a picture though.
There were two Rock things... one was Rock Lords which was a Go Bots spinoff, there was another one... I can't remember what it was though but it wasn't robots turning into rocks.
I remember the toys were just normal dudes with like rock plates on arms/legs/back of head so you'd just bend them at the waste and neck so the plates came together.

I owned more action figures than one could imagine as a child. I still have boxes of them. My grandfather is an auctioneer, so when I was younger he would take any action figures he found at the auctions, and give me a big box of them for my birthday. I always loved it. I had a bit of everything. I was the only one on my block who owned the Batcave, the Batplane, the Batmobile, and more Batman figures than I could ever use at once.
All this He-Man talk is making my wallet itch... I've got to "finish" my MASK collection first though, it's been a few years since I've bought any though.
Oh damn! There's a dude in Montreal selling a bunch of old He-Man toys with all their accessories! I could save on shipping!

Truth be told the real reason I want a Galactus that size is because I want to use him as a coffee side table. His flat, massive helmet head is perfect!
You could stick him next to your recliner, keep the remotes in his hands, put a coaster and cool beverage on his head, and keep your rolled up newspaper in two doohickeys coming off the side of his helmet. It would be brilliant!
I mean, seriously, which room looks "More Awesomer"?

Toys for kids only? Only thing exclusive to kids should be Trix and diapers. Probably my favorite toy is my Starman action figure. Won it on e-bay a couple a years ago and he is a gem to look at. I've been grabbing some heroclix as well. I know they are really a game but some of them have cool poses and sculpts that look great sitting on the shelf.

The LCS and specialty shops tend to mark toys up. The retails stores usually have them for MSRP or a little more. Target charges the same price that Hasbro.com charges, but they usually have a more limited choice.

DCUC Wave 8 line that is due to hit stores sometime in mid-spring 2009. It looks like we are going to have……
Hawkgirl
Gentleman Ghost
Dr Fate (with a chase classic version)
Parademon (both Red and Yellow versions split 50/50!)
Mr. Terrific
Vigilante
Commander Steel
The bonus figure is a 10 inches…… GIGANTA !!!!!.

Gonna tell you right now. From an aesthetic level, if you're only going to buy one Mighty Mugg this year...make it Vision.
I like to keep three on my desk at a given time and put them in rotation. Right now it's Vision, Hulk, and original silver suit Iron Man. I think Vision is the best looking design in the bunch.

The new DCU's have come out, I'm not sure if these are the Wal-Mart exclusives or not, but that's where I got Mr. Miracle. This one is the Build-A-Kalibak series. I think this'll be the first where I get all of the figures in the set. Killer Moth is the only one I don't really care to have, but at that point, may as well get him to finish off Kalibak. I can't wait until the Adam Strange/Starfire 2 pack goes on sale. I'm definitely getting that one as well. Hopefully they'll have an Animal Man one coming soon to complete the 52 trifecta.

Much as I still love cool toys and such, I don't really collect any.
However, a few days ago I bought my first two Mighty Muggs (Doctor Doom and The Thing) after having geeked out over how cool they were for quite a while. They look very nice on my shelf.
If I do decide to start collecting them, I think I'll stick with the Marvel ones ('cept for Chewie, Chewie looks way too cool to pass up).

I used to collect action figures, but after a short period of purchasing the Marvel Legends, DC Direct figures, and a slew of Star Wars figures, I simply stopped when I realized I didn't have the room for them anymore. Honestly, that's the reason I've slowed way down buying much of anything in that vein (like DVD's, video games, books, CD's) because I don't have room for that anymore, and have stopped buying action figures all together. If anything, I may just buy one really kick ass statue here and there for display on one of my shelves, but I'm pretty much done with the Toys R' Us runs :)
On the plus side, I got a nice chunk of cash last summer selling off a lot of my collected toys, DVD's, books, CD's, comics, etc. that I collected throughout the years, yet knew I wouldn't miss once they're gone, and now I save a good chunk of money each month by only buying the DVD's I really know I need on my shelf, or video games I'll play for more than 4 hours.
In a way, having a small home is the best way I've found for controlling my collector's mentality. At the end of the day, I even prefer seeing my shelves looking a lot leaner, but knowing there is a lot less crap on them then there was even a year ago :P

Bad news for the muggers out there. The GI Joe and Transformers lines are being cancelled after their second waves come out.

They're going Toys R Us exclusive starting in the fall. Don't know why those two have been cancelled though. That stinks.
