So I just discovered there is a "rank" in ones digg profile and I was just wondering what that number is based on?

The Numbers
Overall Ranking: 3,711 (updated daily)
Stories Dugg: 346 (see all)
Stories Submitted: 36 (see all)
Promoted Stories: 2 (see all)
Promoted Stories Ratio: 6%
Profile Views: 2,474

Thanks!

Before you get a promoted top story it is mainly based on profile views. After that it is mainly based on how many of your stories have made it to the front page otherwise known as top stories. Welcome to Digg!

what I dont get is how Im ranked 3,711 when I have like no stories promoted to the front page... I have been a member for over a year now so I guess my profile views is what is bringing me to the top of thousands?

well a lot of digg users don't submit anything at all, such as myself, I'd much rather other people find the news for me.

I think number of diggs and comments come into play as well when your not a big submitter.

Man, the one BS crap "funny" story I submitted makes it to the front page, and all the real, interesting and thought provoking stories I submit get, like, 5 diggs each.

Guess that says something, huh? :(

Yep... I haven't been digging for the past couple months, but when I was, the one story I submitted that got more than 10 diggs, I believe was some random YouTube clip or something. Kind of sad really. I mean, I realize the point of Digg is for "what the masses want", but it just seems a little broken if you ask me.
