View Full Version : Anyone else think we could use some new segment backrounds?

I was watching this weeks show, and something hit me.
We have had the same backrounds for Movies, comics, Tv, and Video games for quite a while now, and I think that it would be refreshing to have some new backrounds.
Now I would start it off but I have 0 artistic ability.
So whats everyone think
Agreed. I know they must get a lot of backgrounds...why not use some of them in the other segments?

Considering how many high quality background and t-shirt submissions this show gets, wouldn't it be a good idea to start a new contest to create some new segment backgrounds?
The backgrounds for each segment (movies, games, etc.) haven't changed in about a year, and though they pack in a bunch of little easter eggs they're losing their colouring book charm. I'm curious to see what people could come up with.

The "Video Games" section is simply inspired. I'm going to be sad to see it go. When I speak to friends about what we currently like in Games I consistently have Dan's Falsetto in a loop in my head. Still, I look forward to anything new you guys can provide.

My style leans towards a "trying to look realistic" look but I REALLY appreciate stuff that looks more illustrated or painterly.
I've wanted to try to tackle the segment backgrounds myself but it's hard to change something that already rocks so much. Can't wait to see the new backgrounds.

The "Video Games" section is simply inspired. I'm going to be sad to see it go. When I speak to friends about what we currently like in Games I consistently have Dan's Falsetto in a loop in my head. Still, I look forward to anything new you guys can provide.
Seriously. "Viddeooooo Gamessss" haunts me periodically throughout the day whenever I am reading ANYTHING about video games. haha.

I really like "Video Gaaaaaaames," but it could use an HD makeover. As for backgrounds, I remember getting really disoriented when they changed the last time (that must have been a long time ago now that I think about it), but now I like them, so I have faith that the next iteration will be, dare I say, equally or greaterly epic.

I like the current ones b/c all of the different "pieces" that reference different movies, games, etc.
I look forward to seeing what they come up with for the future.
BTW: If anyone knows how to get a hold of the current ones, that would be awesome...

It is ALWAYS open to submissions. We love seeing what the community has to offer, and will absolutely consider everything we are sent.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of rotation more often to keep things feeling stale/stagnant.
However, you're not allowed to ever get rid of the videogames intro/bumper...that is just too epic.

Everytime I see that background I want to play Mario 64. That's what the room really reminds me of. Am I the only one or is it where it comes from?

I actually REALLY love those backgrounds and feel they're a part of the show, kinda like the background in a news studio or something. I like how its just the intro and show-end background that changes but im sure the new backgrounds will be cool too
