A side note: So everytime I log onto rev3, it kicks me out to the WordPress homepage. Anyone know how to fix this?

None, currently...all my my "stuff" I need to read about I can catch online. I figure it's cheaper than paying for a magazine and it saves trees...

Right now I get:

Sports Illustrated
ESPN the Magazine
Rolling Stone
Aggieland Illustrated (A small press Texas A&M sports mag)
Real Simple (My wife and I get a lot of great ideas out of here)
Outdoor

I have read SI every week since about the 8th grade and EtM almost since it began being published. I have only been on Rolling Stone for about a year and a half, but I really like it.

I subscribe to Wired, The New Yorker, and Juxtapoz, and I barely have time to read these. At any given time I am month behind (yes, even with the weekly editions of The New Yorker).

I also enjoy Hippie Weekly, Hippie Monthly, Hippie Quarterly, and the occasional Hippie Daily. Tranny Vegan's is also a favorite of mine.

I'm a filthy hippie.

Ha. I almost put something in there about how I don't read High Times or International Nerd but then decided to leave it off. Way to come through.

I've been trying to cut down on subscriptions that I don't read, so I think I'm down to Comic Foundry and Sports Illustrated (which I think they just keep sending to me even though my subscription's been up for a while)

Entertainment Weekly and Vanity Fair.

Just got the VF Style issue. There are so many fashion ads that the table of contents is on page 50.

I've been picking up JPG magazine too. Mrs. Flanagan's awesome work appears in that one. They have really cool themed issues. "Noir" for example.

kahunablair

Noir issue, huh? I'm going to have to look for that one.

I'm trying to build up a reference library like the one I had at my disposal when I was back in school. One of the weirdest magazine that actually I looked through a lot for ideas and inspiration? Airbrush Magazine. Some really bizarre stuff in there.

For the most part the only mag I get is the occasional issue of AP (alternative press) they've introduced me to Spiritualized, Mando Diao, Mstrkrft, Bright Eyes all sorts of stuff over the years. Still you have to go through those reviews with a fine toothed comb to find the Albums that are actually good.

Outside of my own post, I haven't seen anyone else mention Utne.

I could see quite a few people in herer that would get a kick out of it.
Utne Reader is an American bimonthly magazine. The magazine collects and reprints articles from generally alternative media sources, including journals, newsletters, weeklies, zines, music, and DVDs. In addition, the magazine’s writers and editors contribute original articles, which tend to focus on emerging cultural trends.

I've actually found some pretty snazzy articles in here. Plus, if you like a certain article's style, they tell you want it was originally written in. I know I've discovered some really cool books, magazines, and websites that way.

If so, how long before he sports an "iFandog" sweater?

Electronic Gaming Monthly
Game Informer
Official XBox Magazine
Maximum PC
Nintendo Power
Game Developer

are the ones that I subscribe too. I often also pickup:
Wizard
Toy Fare
Comic Foundry
Edge
With magazines and comics, all of my reading is sadly periodical based. I do plan on letting a few of the above subscriptions lapse though. Maybe that'll give me time to read a real book or two (or maybe just more comics).

Honesty post.

Hey, guys. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still kicking, even if it's not here so much lately. I'm going through sort of a rough patch and I had to start on anti-depressants. I was doing okay for a few weeks but I'm starting to experience some adverse reactions. It's been tough getting through the day. Really tough. I lost interest in a lot of things, but I'm trying my best to get things back together. Because of this, I will not be writing my column for the next week or two. But I'm looking forward to getting back in the game once my situation is figured out.

I decided to post this here because I find that being honest about my problem is helping with perspective. And I need that right now. I'll try not to be such a stranger, but as there are good days and bad days, I just wanted to let everybody know what was up.

Hey Pol, it's OK man! I've gone through some of the same issues lately and I have to take anti-depressants daily. It's rough starting out, but eventually the doc's will get you straightened out. Better days always come man, you just have to hold on until they do!
