There is no bigger gathering of the comic book industry than the annual San Diego Comic-Con International. Of course iFanboy is there, talking to the best names in comics, like Joe Quesada, Grant Morrison, Cameron Stewart, and more.

Click here to watch the show. (http://www.ifanboy.com/podcasts/video/ifanboy_-_episode__82_-_san_diego_comic-con_2008_-_part_1)

More overwhelming than ever, and brimming with comic book luminaries and talent, Josh, Ron, Conor, and the intrepid Gordon the intern brave the crowded aisles of the San Diego Convention Center, to get a chance to talk to people who make great comics. In this episode, we talk to:

Jeff Parker - writer of X-Men: First Class, Agents of Atlas, and The Age of the Sentry

Cameron Stewart and Ray Fawkes - artist and writer of Apocalipstix from Oni Press. Stewart was also artist on such books as The Other Side, Seaguy, and many others

Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba - the brother artists from Brazil who have worked on Casanova, The Umbrella Academy, and the upcoming B.P.R.D. 1947

Nicola Scott - artist on Birds of Prey and the new Secret Six ongoing series.

Chuck BB - winner of this year's Eisner for Most Deserving Recognition, for his work on Black Metal, from Oni Press.

Philip Bond - artist for many books, including the Escapists, the Invisibles, Vinamarama, and Kill Your Boyfriend.

Grant Morrison and James Sime - the prolific DC writer and the proprietor of Isotope comics show the convention how clothes should be done.

Joe Quesada - Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics.

If that's not enough, don't worry. We couldn't fit all the interviews from this year into one show, so we've got a completely different lineup for you next week. So enjoy this one, and then get ready for more, with 2 giant size iFanboy episodes.

Really awesome show guys unfortunately my list of trades and graphic novels I'm buying gets bigger and bigger even though I am reading more and more....I think I am picking up X-Men first class Black Metal and the surrogates. Ifanboy is draining my cash worse than my ex-wife. I was never married, I just had to throw in that shitty joke. Im still debating deleting it...... too much time spent....must click submit....

X-Men First Class is my favorite X-book.

Its the only X-Book I still read. Lots of fun.

As I believe Conor once said in the video show, this should have been the Ultimate X-Men.

As sad as this is it will be my first x-men book. The closest thing I have read to x-men is wolverine enemy of the state. Do you guys think I should read first class first or go with something like dark pheonix saga?

First Class is a good starting point. Its not strict continuity, so there are no events you need to know about beforehand.

Great show. Loved the Quesada interview. I also loved the fact that we are getting an Agents of Atlas ongoing. I loved the mini. I might check out First Class as well due to everyone's recommendation. Good job with the show guys!

Seeing the outside of the convention center brings back good memories of SD.

Too bad they don't involve comic con, but still good memories!

I think when I finally go to SDCC I'm going to dress in a plaid leisure suit and then stand directly next to Grant Morrison...

Great show, though...I love hearing the creator interviews.

I kept waiting for a mention of One More Day...

I kept waiting for a mention of One More Day...

I don't expect him to defend One More Day. I'm in the camp that can't forget how awful that story was, but loves the fact that they rebooted him. He scapegoated himself and took all the heat for something that needed to be done... People will always hate him for it, but Amazing Spider-man is really really good right now, and it's going to continue to be good because of Brand New Day and the fact that Quesada took the heat and did One More Day...

Hey Conor or any other con goer really,
Did anyone get the plague this year?

None of us got sick. Maybe Romo, but not iFanboy proper.

The One More Day Question was on the list, but we didn't end up getting to it. In reality though, what's the point, ya know? He's been so candid about it that there's not much to go over, and the books are good now. Meh.

But yes, I love that guy too. He's done so much more good than bad for comics since I've been reading.

Nicola Scott is my newest crush. Wow, she's all kinds of attractive. Plus she does comics. Is there a more perfect woman?

*sigh*...eventually, heroes will be back on the air.

I loved how Nicola Scott just chose to become a comic book artist...that's awesome.

It still boggles my mind that Cameron Stewart hopped a plane over to Vietnam to get a real sense for the style of the comic. THAT's dedication to the craft.
