Oh man. I don't know if I can handle that provocative cover of Supergirl. Someone get a blanket and cover her up so that I may read this thread with as little chance of outrage as possible. ;)
Also, finally. You guys are getting awfully slow with the Sunday show. Am I expected to wait around all day for the podcast? Not that I have much else to do, mind you. But that is so not the point.

Are these Final Crisis covers going to be made into posters at all?

I am not a DC guy. Most of you know this.
I love Final Crisis. Conor points out a few things that I didn't even realize I loved about it. I love that it is dark and nasty and mean. I felt like DC could use having its heroes knocked down a peg for YEARS now, literally. They win too easily. I never feel threatened by their enemies. This book does that with spades. As an aside, the plot is reminding me a little of SNow Crash as written by Neal Stephenson. It was written in '76, one of the great futurist novels of that era of science fiction, wherein the 'bad guys' introduce a virus to humanity to change life on the planet. A must read for any fan of true, thinking science fiction.
BTW, I like the new 'Pick of the Week' feature.

Great episode as always guys. I totally agree with the above statement. The DC heroes would always win with ease. Even if the lower tier charcters were getting thier butt kicked Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman would show up and every thing would be ok. What I love about this series is that they are the characters who are taken out first so they can't rush in and save the day like they always do. This mini is awesome so far and I have to agree with what Grant Morrison said at the start of this Final Crisis is a lot better than Secret Invasion as of now.

Snow crash was published in 92... do you have your dates wrong or did he sit on it 16 years?

Also I just wanted to say thank god that Conor is doing a mini or video show about The Hawkman special which pissed me off completely. It seems like they are retconning his origin/past yet again. Can't wait for that show guys.

Actually, I checked my copy. Portions of it were copyrighetd from '76. The book itself was fully published in '92.

From the show notes:
"Book of the Month - Ron gives Conor the slow clap"
There's an ointment for that.

Can I ask. My issues's cover is a Wonder Woman Darth Vader Boar hybrid, no super girl. Is that a variant or just one of the covers? Has the red stripes on the sides too.

The FC covers with the red bars are the normal cover dress for Final Crisis. They feature major players.
The painted covers are variants. They feature support characters.

Thanks, that helps.
Hey guys, what's up with Ron's mic? He sounds like he's 50 feet away. C'mon Ron, fix your setup. It feels like it's become Josh and Conor's show with Ron as the producer who speaks in the background or something. ;)
Btw, great show once again.
