....and vh1.com neither...my ibook g4 10.3.9 wont play any videos because of drm i suspect. is there some sort of quick fix to get around that?

by the way i heard about rosetta on the new intel versions can emulate windows but that is still slow and choppy.

just have the pre 2004 ibook g4, no intel chips. i have a vlc player installed too.

I just checked out the VH1 site. There video service is only compatible with IE. Your pretty much screwed because of the power pc chip.

Ps. Rosetta doesn't emulate Windows. Rosetta is used to run older programs on intel hardware.

dont understand this war between the two, apple and windows.War? What war? There is now everlasting peace ever since Apple decided that Intel chips actually ARE better than the PowerPC ... and cross platform applications and dual booting became a possibility.

BUT ... since you come from a time before the enlightenment of Jobs you are SOL.

it might work on IE5 for mac...if you can find it. MS stopped giving it out because it was so outdated

MTV has never been mac friendly. It is heavily based in IE shit which is a shame in this day and age with Firefox and Apple both gaining in popularity. So much for Mtv being hip and with it

I mean really.....who designs a site like that in 100% flash

As was said Rosetta doesn't emulated Windows, however with the Intel chips you can install corssover and install IE6, it crashes sometimes.....so....umm...yeah, it works just like IE6. haha

There are a few other ways of running windows & mac together on Intel. Google "bootcamp" or "parallels" for those

Couldn't you just run Firefox with the IE tab extension. It would emulate IE and it is in the best browser of all for any OS, Firefox.

You have to have Windows XP Windows Media Player 10, Internet Explorer 6, because of the DRM Protection (Digital Rights Management).

Only solution is use Boot Camp or Parallels to run Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac.

it doesnt 'emulate' IE. It needs IE installed to work as well. Run IE with Crossover or Wine if you need to :)

You need Windows Media Player & Internet Explorer 6. I don't think there is anyway to watch the DRM protected videos in Mac OS X.
