i'd say either an Orinoco card or a Intel Pro Wireless 2200 (miniPCI) both are really linux friendly and able to crack WEP and stuff...if you only want a wifi card for getting online with Windows XP, any card will do just fine...

then pretty much go on Newegg, Best Buy, Circuit City and just find one that fits the "platform" you need (USB, PCMCIA, PCI, MiniPCI)
