-Hear the faint sound of the alarm clock
-fumble around looking for it
-realize its next to my bed
-hit the snooze button
-sleep five more minutes
-repeat three or four times
-realize I have to shower, dress, and drive to work, fix lunch, eat breakfast, and I only have 45 minutes to do it in.
-I try to do it all
-get distracted by computer, checking email, ifanboy
-rush out the door praying I don't forget anything.
-I forgot my lunch, stop by gas station get whatever I see.
-get to work just on time
-get angry at co-workers
-dick around on the internet when work doesn't get in the way
-go home
-Run, Eat, play video games. Tell myself I will go to sleep by 10
-1 comes around and I go to bed.

I wish I had my class schedule, but I'm a teacher not a student. I sit around all day playing with my dog, watching TV, working out, and playing Xbox because I don't start working for another couple weeks when I'll begin to get ready for the upcoming school year.

We started school this week. It's crazy early. We still have like 300 students that haven't registered yet because they all think we start in two weeks like we did last year.
My day to day is different because we have block scheduling, but for the most part it's work, dinner (with some cartoons), some games, reading, bed.

About a week ago I was looking through profiles on OKcupid (yea I use dating sites) and I found a couple of profiles where the women had something to the extent: "I don't want a child who plays video games". I also have a couple of other female friends who think down of a guy in his middle twenties who plays video games.
The question popped up, "Do these women hate video games, or the guys who play them? Why do they hate them?" and then I realized this might actually be a good idea for an article on my blog, not only that but it could extend to comic books as well.
It lead me to think, I know a lot of guys who give up on relationships, or just kind of abandon a relationship just so they can play video games. I also have heard of families getting tore up because on of the parents played WoW too much. I use to be the kind of guy who would play WoW when company was over, yes I was that rude.
I really want to do some research on this subject, make the article a self help kind of thing so people can see how video games, comics, and every other male hobby affects their relationships. Make these people who hate video games see that its not an inductive trait to everyone who plays or reads, and make the people who think that there's nothing wrong with video games and such, take a second look. (if that makes sense).
So now that you know all that here is what I'm getting at, anyone here have a relationship that may have ended badly because of your hobbies or they looked down on you because of your hobby? Where you or are you in a relationship where your S/O has no problem with your hobby? I kind of want to hear your stories and do some Q&A with you for the article. If you know anyone who has strong views one way or the other send them my way, I would love to interview them as well.
Just send me an Emal, valoharth@hotmail.com and put the subject Relationships & Hobbies.

I don't think it would need a thread its self, maybe a Comic Books and Relationships thread would be a good idea. Where people can go in and just talk about what kind of relationships they've built via comics or if their hobbie ever got in the way of something.

Imagine if they put that Bigfoot corpse in the freezer without telling the rest of the family. Then the wife goes downstairs to get ready for the big barbecue only to find all the contents of the freezer laying out on the floor.
"The missing link!"
"Oh, no! You opened the freezer?"
"No! You left the sausage out on the washing machine!"

"I don't think you ought to be going through Bigfoot's wallet, hon. Doesn't seem right."
"Bigfoot was a Sam's Club member?"
"Shapely figure like that, he probably needed a lot of Hot Pockets."
"Well, we know he didn't have much. How do you think he made a living?"
"Tabloids, I suppose."
"Why do you suppose he never went public? Just snapshots here and there? Could have made a bundle if he went on Regis."
"Probably scared. Charlene, you of all people should know what sudden celebrity can do to a person."
"Everybody wanted one of those pies, even three months after that state fair."
"Besides, living in the woods, Bigfoot probably just wanted to be alone."
"In the woods?"
"In the woods."
"To think. He was born out there, all alone in the wilderness."
"No, I suspect he was once like us, Charlene."
"Lutheran?"
"No. You know...human."

"Had a copy of Walden in his back pocket."
"So he was just returning to nature?"
"And racking up a mighty intimidating late fee from the Floyd County library."

"I imagine so."
"We could bury him."
"You got a shoebox big enough?"
"We could roll him up in a tarp."
"You volunteering our back yard for a grave?"
"Well, why not?"
"The dogs'd dig him up before too long."
"What if we have him stuffed?"
"He's not a raccoon, Charlene."
"What do you think the rate is for a raccoon?"
"I really wouldn't know."
"Well, call up that taxidermist in Gum Branch and ask for the raccoon rate and just times that by about 14."
