It's almost December and I want to know what people are hoping to get for Christmas.

the main things I'm asking for are trampoline lessons or a wakesurf board.
It would be great to get a wii but it's not something i would actually ask for.

Most likely it's going to like this:

A Laptop (WAAAAAY to expensive, so it's most likely not gonna happen)
Metal Gear Solid - Portable Ops (PSP)
2GB, hopefully 4GB memory stick (PSP)
PSP Camera
And maybe a couple PS2 games, not sure though.

And oh yeah, dude, unless your talking about professional flips and stuff, go freestyle on the trampoline! I have one, I know. It's the only way to fly...LOL

Bishop: He's serious.
Whistler: I want peace on earth and goodwill toward men.
Bernard Abbott: We're the United States Government! We don't do that sort of thing.

That pretty much covers it. I would ask for a new DV camera, but the one's I'm shooting for are way too expensive. All the Hanukkah magic in the world wouldn't get me a Cannon XL2. ;)

I already know what I'm getting, dammit. He does this shit to me every single year...As much as I 'd like to surprise my wife, she figures out what I get her every year. She hates surprises, and I can't keep a secret from her (I guess that rules out infedelity on my part).

Although this year, I am thinking about getting her an iPod of her own so I can ditch the Nina Simone albums off mine (one album is OK, but I think she has the whole collection loaded).

Since I play Santa at our house (there is just the two of us, plus the dog), the whole idea of what I want for Xmas is a moot point since I will be buying it myself anyway (but I really want a UMPC - something like the Samsung Q1 ... justifying it is the hard part).

Why would you want to take Nina off of your iPOD??? Thats just crazy, what you should do is buy her the Four Women box set if she doesn't already have it.

We also picked up a two disc set at the Picasso Museum in Paris (wierd place to buy Nina .. whatever) ... the first disc was great, and reminiscent of the Colpix recordings, the second was more "experimental" jazz in nature, and not suited to Nina at all.

Either way, Nina needs to get off my iPod for a while :)

He *tells* me every year waaay in advance. I think it's because he's afraid I won't like it.

I try to do the whole wishlist thing, so it's one of several options, but this year I hadn't even gotten around to a list yet. I think it's because they got several of these flatpanels at his job, and he's tired of moving our 80 lbs. CRT monitors.

So far my list consists of:
A 9 volt battery for my alarm clock
Seasons 1 and 2 of Spaced
A flashlight
A new battery for my iPod
And a winnebago, a nice one, with a queen-sized bed and a satellite dish, with mahogany interior...
And apparently a copy of Sneakers so I can remember the rest of that line.

In all honesty I would love to get any new system (the PS3 isn't out in the UK until 2007 though, and the Wii is out later this year but in short supply, but I'd love a 360 just as much) but I just can't afford that. I've been saving for a new console for a while (I was going to get an Xbox 360) then my iPod broke a month out of warranty, so I had to buy a new one and now I'm back saving again for a console.

Santa hates me.

While I am sorry to hear that Nina's Philips recording catalog is not in your wife's favor, the Colpix years are awesome as well. But you should at least find her rendition of "Here Comes the Sun", it will change your mind...you'll want to play it every morning when you wake up, I promise. I also agree with you about the experimental jazz that Nina did, not my favorite. But she lived in Paris for almost the last third of her life so it's not really that wierd to buy a record in the Picasso museum, they love her there (and in my opinion, her work is just as influential as Picasso's).

Its funny you mention "Here Comes the Sun" ... because one of my favourite tracks is a live recording she did of "House of the Rising Sun".

As someone now living in North Carolina - and someone that loves Paris, I can see where a lot of her influences came from, and it says a lot about the period she grew up in, when she quits Juliard (sp?) because her black parents are denied entry to her performance at the school.

I liked superman 1+2, 3 wasn't too bad but it had that sweet fight between christopher reeves and christopher reeves. ok 4 was just plain terrible. But I also like superman returns.

Also the superman returns dvd is £15 and the boxset is £50 so i may aswell get the boxset. Since I don't actually own 1+2 yet and i wanna see the donner cut.
