Great to see what the Revision3 team is doing!

The story on Satellite Radio was good but there were a couple more quick points that could have been added to make it a complete story. While focusing on only a single device from both Sirius and XM, there was not enough of a comparison between the services. In the near future both services will have very similar devices—in fact, Sirius just released the Stilletto 100 which is not only a live portable device like the XM model discussed, but is also WiFi enabled for live radio streaming over the internet (first of its kind in the industry).

Anyway, my point is that I think the real comparison is about the content:
- Howard Stern vs Oprah
- NFL vs MLB
- Eminem vs Snoop Dogg

Content wise I think Sirius blows XM away. I’m a Sirius subscriber but recently bought a new car that came with XM for 3 months so I’ve had a chance to compare the two. The music and talk variety on Sirius is definitely better. If you were to compare the music selection, a case could probably be made that the services are similar (although I still prefer Sirius). Where I think Sirius really shines is with their non-music content like talk, sports, and comedy. I’m a Stern fan but Sirius has something for everyone. Examples include Martha Stewart, E!, NFL, Cosmo, OutQ, CourtTV, Maxim, and Playboy. Its all there…

It's tough to compare services because the content is more important than the devices and content is a personal thing. I'm the exact opposite as you...XM for years and Sirius regularly for a four months or so (other than the few times I tried it to review new receivers). I'm not a talk radio fan...I think baseball is the only sport worth listening to and I'm not what I would even call a sports fan. I prefer to listen to music and I like XM's selection better...especially in the techno/dance/electronic genre. I didn't care for Sirius's pop genre either and I really didn't like the Sirius plugs and DJ chatter.

As you can see comparing Sirius to XM is next to impossible. It's very subjective. To me the XM versus Sirius thing is like the Mac versus PC feud...it's a matter of preference. So, I chose not to mention the content.

As for Stilletto...they had to pick that day to announce it! Didn't get the inside scoop on that one. Damn it!

Cheers,

Hahn

Man, I love my Stern. The other thing I love about my Sirius is the chance to listen to every single NBA game. It's amazing.

Listening to every sports game is friggin cool. However XM with MLB makes more sense to me, since baseball is more of a radio sport than all the other ones. Oh yeah BTW Jonathon London is a wild man. All I can say is the man can definitely throw it down on the dance floor.

Haha! Come on the Geekdrome and see how you compare! We'll see who has the best moves!

And the saddest thing about loving NBA basketball... I'm an old school Utah Jazz fan. I know. Weird. And there's NO WAY without Sirius I'd be able to catch every game. NBA In Demand's packages are too expensive for me. Now I can hear every single one. It's great.

Oh man Jonathon is calling me out!!! Are we going to see a union of inDigital and Geekdrome???......However, when my friend had the NBA package to every game it was friggin cool, however it killed my social life, all I would do is follow my fantasy team while flippin between channels.
