Thought I'd share ... just in case there is anyone who hasn't read it yet.
It got me into "graphic novels" several years ago ... so its a good one to have on hand to introduce friends to the medium.

Im not trying to be rude or anything, but Borders has its Rewards program which you can get a coupon for at least 20% off a purchase once a week. It's a free program they have which Ive been using like crazy. Oh yeah, if you spend a certain amount of money, they give you some back, sortof like a gift card.

So I pulled out my old(er), worn in, paperback and started reading it again; like everybody else on the planet. But I found my self actually squinting at the small panels and having trouble holding it up with out it falling a part or making it worse by folding it over on my lap. But mainly I was shocked to that I had trouble with he small panels -- I guess they are pretty small.
So I have wanted the ABSOLUTE Edition for a while but wasn't willing to through down that much money for it. When I looked it up on amazon and iFanboy people it had nice big panels and looks really great inside and out. But even so I haven't seen it out for a while -- the local comic book store never had it and my buddy who works there said they can order it for fat $200 from some obscure distributor. But then... some times I got to Barnes & Noble to get specific trades or con them out of nice big special edition shit. And this particular day I went to Borders just down the street, and although they did not carry it they brought it up in there system and said they could "order it" at $75 SE New from the publisher and it would come in 2-4 weeks!!!! aside; the lady assured me it would come sooner then that. And all I had to give was my phone number and name and I didn't have to put down any money.
I think this beats pre-ordering or ordering back ordered shit from Amazon.com -- which is my main source for buying pretty much anything online; specifically books and comics.

Not related to sales price, but I was in Borders today and 'Watchmen' was everywhere. There were stacks of it in the graphic novel section, but also in several different special displays throughout the store. Even on a new release shelf for some reason --
Looks like the major chains are pushing this book hard, and I've heard from various sources that it's selling well. It's just kind of cool to see a mainstream surge of interest in the book this far before the movie comes out.

Amazon.ca has Absolute Watchmen available new and for $50. That just seems impossible to me. Part of me wants to order it, part of me is sure it won't be the absolute.

I work at a Barnes & Noble in Pittsburgh and yeah... we are ordering the hell out of that book. The great part is that we are doing it because of demand not because we are trying to push it. I'm glad to see people really wanting the book.
On a side note we had lists of books needed for courses in local high schools and on one of them lists was Watchman. I was stoked to see that. In some high school they are teaching with Watchman... Bitchen!

I think awesomely cool how Watchmen is affecting mainstream culture, years after it was originally released (does anyone care if there were any delays now?!)
OK, so I think I'm a well versed comic reader of a few years to finally take a crack at it. Should I go for the Absolute straight or get the trade? Yeah, I'm thinking go for the big one, to enjot it at it's best too.
Anyways, just cool to hear and chime in!

Well I would say the Absolute but its out of print and its hard to find for a good price. You'll have to pay way too much for it normally. But if you can find it.. go for it. Or just wait a little longer... It should be back in print soon because of the movie.
