I didn't see a "sexiest panel" thread here and I just knew we needed it. Everybody loves sexy panels, whether they want to admit it or not. So please, tell us where you got your kicks at this week. :D

guess it's only fair that i start this thing. so, out of the few books that i read this week: All Hail Megatron #2, Captain America #41, Legion of Three Worlds #1 and Trinity #12 only one made me stop in my tracks. that being Madame Zodiac's appearance in Trinity #12's back story: "Riddle Me This". wow, it really doesn't get much better than that for the raven-haired variety. the outfit really does me in and it's such a shame that this particular style's been out since the middle ages. fortunately it can still be found in comics from time to time.
Thank You Mike Norton for bringing me my Sexiest Panel of the Week

Since no one else really reads Trinity, a scan is in order.

Hey I read Trinity!

I don't really remember the panel in question though. Seems a scan IS in order.

unfortunately i don't have a scanner. is it okay to post images from our books here if i did? and.. the idea isn't for my pick to be the only one. you guys are supposed to post your favorite here, too.

Yeah I'm thinking...I like the Red Queen panel from UXM #501 in concept, but in artistic reality? not so much. Hmmmmm.

(my books are at home and I'm at work.)

While I did post that pic to help a dude out, I definitely agree with this sentiment.

It's really the only way this thread is going to survive.

BTW, I thought "sexiest panel" meant, like, a panel at a con. And there are very few con panels that anyone would refer to as particularly "sexy." "Sweaty", perhaps, or even "unshaven"... never "sexy".

i might have considered 162 hits within a few hours indicative of this being a successful thread, but then i saw how misconstrued the idea had become.. it took me a few minutes to translate "PILF". forgive me, i'm a bit new to the revision3 arena. so perhaps there has been a thread based on this premise before?
either way i sit here befuddled at the lack of interest in sexually charged panels, but rather interest in panels?! at least i've inspired something.
btw: i only chose the madame zodiac image because it was the best from "my" four book stack, not because it was the best image of all books released that particular week. i hoped if more people brought their choices to the thread we might be able to discuss which was best.
but, you know, whatever..
"threads die, but revision3 lives on forever"

We don't really do the "look at her boobies" thing here, unless it's done jokingly or ironically. There are plenty of other comics communities for that.

For the record, I devised the term PILF especially for this thread. I thought it was pretty clear, given the context clues.

We do like T&A here, but we define it as 'talking & analyzing'. :)

Hmmmmm (http://www.ifanboy.com/content/articles/The_Top_Ten_Most_Shaggable_Men_in_Comics)

Seems like a double standard.

And, I'm sort of aware I'm only stirring up a hornets nest here but in an industry where Mary Marvel is essentially a gimp now, there's ANOTHER dominatrix in the X-men universe, and, well, we know what's going on with Green Arrow and Black Canary. I kind of feel like ignoring sexuality is more childish than discussing it.

Not to mention the rather disturbing idea that a panel of stabbing someone in the head is "sexy". Where's the snuff film thread? (I know that wasn't really the implication but it follows)

And who's to say that a woman couldn't post her opinion of the sexiest panel of the week?

Or the sexiest panel of the week is...say...Oracle solving some math problem to save the day?

Ignoring sexuality only leads to an irrational fear of it.
ANyways, I've said my piece.

Yeah that's probably true, and so maybe my point is moot, but the fact is the column was posted and nobody raised an eyebrow. Whereas this thread was met with an near immediate kybosh. It's interesting how people react to things. I didn't bat an eyelash at the baton-in-the-head thing but I might have gasped at a cleavage shot. We decadent Westerners are so backward...

Yeah the Baton in head thing doesn't bug me either, I'm an adult and I love my gore. It's more the idea that violence is inherently okay, whereas sex is not.

I realize it's a complicated and touchy subject, but we tackle just about everything else here right?

We tend to avoid sex and politics. I'm particularly glad about the politics...

I know we avoid politics, but is that true of sex? I seem to remember pages and pages about that MJ statue, maybe that was more of a specific instance, but noone shied away from it.

I probably should've initially posted this in the "unpopular opinion" thread ;) , and to be honest I hemmed and hawwed over posting about it at all. But I figured, it seemed the intent wasn't a "let's post naughty pics" thread (maybe I'm wrong there) but actual discussion on sexually charged panels, which are rampant in comics, and have been for all of my life. Long before that even!

There's at least one negative comment on that post, in the "I'm glad my wife doesn't read comics so she doesn't get these disturbing ideas" vein, and several "why isn't there a list of sexiest women?" So I'm not sure what "nobody raised an eyebrow" means.

Anyway, I think there's a world of difference between "humorous column with some sexual references", "honest discussion of sexuality" and "Which comic had the best cleavage this week?"

And sure, hot panels of scantily-clad men could be posted, but that's a "have to wrack my brain to think of a handful I've seen in the last year" situation versus, "I saw 27 examples this week, just on the covers in the Marvel section." If there's a double standard, it's a pre-existing one.

(Though if anybody wants to prove me wrong and post as much near naked Cyclops or Hal Jordan or Tony Stark as you can find, you won't hear any complaints from me.)

Okay, two eyebrows. ;)

Fair enough, and perhaps it's me projecting here, but shouldn't that discussion be had? (the honest discussion part, not the cleavage part) I mean is it just me or are more and more evil women in leather finding thier way into books these days? Why is that? What's happening in the cultural conciousness?

Yeah, Cyke's probably the easiest example because he probably has more bedroom scenes than every other Marvel character combined. Billy Tan drew this one issue of Messiah Complex where he was just wearing a towel. Not that I was paying close attention.

That's a good discussion, and I don't think anybody's objected to having it.

Part of the issue is that 'half-naked' and 'sexy posing' means different things for men and for women. The Red Arrow example is a good one, because whoever that artist is (and bless his/her heart) has him blatantly posed like a Calvin Klein underwear model. Most panels of shirtless men aren't particularly geared that way.

It's so unfair to assume all sexual talk has to be of the depraved variety. And, i'm in absolute agreement of the aberrative nature in suggesting "man that baton thru the head is SEXY" but pointing out that a male (yes, i hoped women would post here, too) or female has been drawn in an intriguing fashion is wrong.
A good case might have been Billy Tan's opening panel from NA #43 featuring Shanna. I though his choice of positioning, rather feral, was very well done. So much so that I made several attempts to mimic it with my own pencils. That's right. I grabbed my pencil, not my schlong. My point is, you can appreciate well drawn sexually charged images w/o being a perverted sextard.
You might also notice in my initial example I tried to keep it light and hadn't even considered posting the image here. It was another forum member, senior mind you (who also referred to me as "dude" in a shitty fashion), that did the deed. Not only was my post light but I tried to toss some funny in there by mentioning the outfit was a tad outdated.
As far as Sonia's article is concerned, I enjoyed it quite a bit. You'll even find several posts from me there of a joking nature. I loved that a woman spoke up about the men in comics. It also appeared that everyone else did.
I was also willing to let the post die respectfully, but found conor's "we don't point out boobies" to be the most condescending remark directed towards anyone in the time i've posted here.
But, it is in most part my fault for not completely reading the rules of the forum. It was my assumption that the forum provided us, the fans, with an oppurtunity to talk about what "we" wanted, while the main site was there for IFanboy lit.
So my apologies, as always

Well, I don't think Conor was trying to be condescending. He comes off as short sometimes, but only because he's a busy guy, and, you know, moderating us chumps can't be easy.

Also, don't get me wrong. I loved Sonia's article. Again I hesitated initially in referencing it, but then figured "aaahhhh what the hell"

Finally I didn't really see how calling you "dude" was shitty.

While he may not have "tried" to be condescending, he was. I got his point from the start. He doesn't like discussing sex, it's beneath him.

As I said with Gobo's "dude" comment, it seemed he was playing along until conor showed up. Likely, I've exaggerated my feelings on that. It's a misinterpretation on my part and, maybe, Gobo's not so bad.
