Most of these have no set yet release date and many shall be coming out 2009.

But one thing is for sure it really is getting a strong lineup at last. :)

I am sure as time moves on this list will be updated with more.

i certainly hope these pan out - i had really high hopes for the wii when i first got it and was sure that i'd keep playing it, especially after mario galaxy.

but then there was the cascade of crap.

and now their "promise" to so-called hardcore gamers is that there will be new zelda and mario games coming out "in one to two years"

Yeah, Red Steel sucks in retrospect, but did you play it on launch day? I think Ubisoft did a decent job on the title given that it was out in time for launch and wasn't just a GameCube game with the controls tacked on (*cough*Zelda*cough*). It actually had some decent graphics at times, just not near the beginning of the game. Everyone seems to bag on this game, but they don't take the time to consider that it actually wasn't that bad at the Wii's launch. And it's still more original than 80% or more of the Wii library.

I would have loved to be excited about Fatal Frame, but it sounds like they f'd up the controls, while Disaster Day of Crisis has been delayed multiple times due to quality issues, so I have little faith.

Bozon from IGN said he prefers it on Wii as well, which isn't surprising since he's on the Nintendo team and not the Xbox team. However, I bet it is more fun with the Wii controls - I really didn't like the demo on the PS3, which is likely identical to the 360 demo. Still not planning to get it, but maybe some day I'll pick up a cheap used copy or I'll rent it just to see how the Wii version feels.

Disaster, I thought it was getting rated lately in a few countries and is actually set for release sometime this year according to some retailers or something? Though, if that is true, it's puzzling why Nintendo wouldn't announce it at E3.. Or were these rumors only?

Maybe if there were more games with a story, voice acting, Xbox-quality graphics, I'd agree, but it's sorely lacking in anything like that. Not fanboyism; fact. I have a Wii. It was my first choice for console, but I have barely touched it since getting a PS3. There is so much untapped potential in the Wii... Maybe MotionPlus will draw it out of developers, I dunno... I hope so. I do love Nintendo. I loved my GameCube.

And WRT Zelda - don't be greedy, Wii has 2 already. lol

I own all 3, and chose Wii over PS3 when they came out. I don't hate my Wii, but I don't really play it either. It's a shame, really. I like a lot of games for the Wii, but when I have time to play I end up turning to one of the other two.

Thats not what I meant at all... I meant that as a platform for gaming the Wii is awesome. Its not a media center, a bluray player... its a straight Nintendo game console.

Nintendo is focused on gaming, not making a jack of all trades box that cost 500 plus dollars. Its the difference between the DS and the PSP... the DS is the better why? Its not bloated down by trying to a hand held EVERYTHING... everyone can like the Wii, everyone can play it... you dont have to invest a shit ton of money into it to enjoy it. Moms can play, dads can play... grandmas can play... its a GAMING machine... not some overly priced fanboy making marketing ploy. Since it so cheap you dont need to defend your purchase, you don't have to one of those guys who picks a side...

Thats why its out sold everything, not because its the most elite or sophisticated tech, but because its made for gaming.

Yes if you're some die hard who needs the Porsche of gaming consoles the Wii isn't for you... but for the rest of us a little box that gives us such a range of game play... that's easy to pick up and play is just what we want, and there's a lot of us out there...
