Same here. I think this is a known issue though. I thought I heard they were going to fix this (or hope the problem goes away) when they upgrade the forums.

It didn't used to screw up, but now it does. Annoying.

It keeps me logged in for one session, but if I come back to the forums an hour later I need to log in again.
On other forums, I stay logged in ALL the time. I really wish I could do that here. I only use the forum from my own computers and nobody else uses them, so having to log in every time is really annoying.

At the very least Google Chrome remembers the UN and PW and is quick to login. One click and it's almost like remaining logged in.

Using Firefox 3 here and though I check the "remember me" box every time, if I click in the username field, it'll then fill in my username and password, then I need to click to login, so it remembers me, it just doesn't log me in on its own.
Of course then I go to the WordPress login page and have to navigate my way back to where I intended to go, but that's a separate issue.

After logging in, it shows that you're not logged in? Try reloading the page. It is most likely that the page is cached. This happens for me as well, but a refresh shows that I am logged in.

okay i did that again and it worked........
just so were clear, i would like to STAY logged in at all times or when i come back to the site have it auto log me in, doesn't matter which one i just want to come to the forums or any part of the site and not have to log in every flippin time, its a pain to have to log in every single time.....well if i am unactive for "X" amount of time i don't know how long it takes before it logges me out i just want it to keep me logged in
as you guys can see i am not the only one that am having this issue please resolve this

I'm getting the same problem as well. Multiple browsers and computers. Safari & Firefox on 10.5.5.

What it does exactly is when I open the link to these forums it asks me to login. No matter what I enter it dumps me back to the revision3 main site asking me to enter a username/email and password with the error:
ERROR: The password field is empty.
I MUST use my email address and forum password and only then does it log me in under this name.

the point to this Rev3 Staff is that I and pretty much everyone for that mater wants to STAY logged in,
any word here on this issue or are we left with no solution....its as simple as (yes were working on it, it will be fixed very soon...[time frame]) or (no, we plan not to fix this at any time[tough shit])
thanks for reading guys
p.s. huge fan of the shows, just aggravated that there has been no communication with this problem out side of two posts by staff

yep. me too. safari on mac. Happened after I got unbanned, so thought it was cause i deleted cookies. Had other issues, too, after that. Odd thing is. ... laptop logs me off, but iMac keeps me on. Didn't muck about with cookies on iMac.

I use Opera at work and the login area at the top right doesn't work for me either. I type it in and it takes me to the dedicated log in page, where it works. I believe it works good for me in Safari on my mac but not in Opera on the PC.

you know, I didn't have to log in for a year or so...and then a few weeks back, it started logging me out when my IP address changed or after a few days
From forum first page:
Currently Active Users: 8954 (360 members and 8594 guests)
Isn't it odd that you have over 8000 users but only 360 have logged in? The ratio feels like it would be the opposite. Maybe thats just me. I wounder how many have this problem with loggin in.......
Is there any guess from the staff what the problem might be....

I see that the tread is not the hottest topic of the day but we have had some staff/moderators posting. And I hope they will post more.
esophagus - Have you found any solution?
samureye - Good that you post but not very helpful. Try to see if you can replicate our problem and help us solve it.
Secret Steve Crumbles - Where did you hear that its a know problem. Where do you find out what forum this is and version.
chuckles - Any more info about the problem or <just kidding>should I buy a iMac since it works on that</just kidding>

We know that there is an issue with staying logged in and one of our developers is working on a fix for it, but unfortunately he has a lot on his plate and cannot devote all of his attention on it. As I've stated previously, we're aiming to have this problem resolved with the next major web update. As to when that might be, I do not have a concrete date yet.

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I rarely visit this side of the forums. I think I was using the same version at the time. I'm now using 9.63 and I still have the same problem. Before replying I deleted the Wand passwords and cleared my revision3 cookies, yet the problem still persists. The error message I get on the dedicated login page (which does work) is "ERROR: The password field is empty.", even though it wasn't.

I am able to reproduce this problem now. One of our developers will be looking into this.

Hmm, I been getting logged out again every few hours (used to be every few weeks). Right now gonna blame it on safari4 beta. Especially since I changed the user agent, though I don't know why that woulda made a difference.

Agreed, there are alot of weird things that happen on this board, that I've only seen happening on these vbulletin boards.... and my most experience with a vbulletin forum is ten times the size of threads and members of this one, and it's run by non-nerd idiots.
And, add me to the list of someone getting logged out every time I mosey away.

If you're still having issues with getting logged out, please delete all your existing cookies for revision3.com and then log in again with the "remember me" option -- it should work as expected.

I also find myself getting logged out for no reason. Another annoying issue is where I try to view the last unread post, and it just picks a random READ post. It's most irritating when I access the forums via the 'there's a new post' emails.
Glad it's not just me though ! :)

I get both of those issues - logged out at least three times this week. Annoying, as the login is case sensitive and I'm ArmpitOfDeath as opposed to armpitofdeath.

Actually, it's not case sensitive for me. Lower-case 'H' gets me in.
And yes, I've reset all my stored passwords, cookies, browsed history, etc.

Didn't realise - the main site login IS case sensitive and I used to try and login from there when I got kicked out. I see vbulletin itself is case insensitive.
Perhaps the problems come from the overall site integration into vbulletin or something? Another logout just before this post.

i think there are a little to busy adding crappy shows and removing good ones to actually fix anything for us
