Just so you know... Home beta invites were sent out, and will be sent out every week until the open beta.
Check your email to see if you got in.
I'm surprised NJShadow didn't post this already... Probably too busy resfreshing his email / calling Sony to complain cuz he didn't get in / crying in the corner.

I woke up this morning with the surprise of an invite. Kinda sad cause i'm one of the few people who doesn't even really want Home, but I've been playing with it today since i had the day off. My opinion is still that i don't particularly want it.

I heard your chances are increased by downloading the Home Theme for PS3. So if you're looking for an invite, might help to download it.

I never get into any betas, despite how great a candidate I would be... even then ones I payed for (technically) through Qore, still can't do those yet. Jeez.

I guess it can be really random sometimes how you get into a Beta sometimes. I did the Lord of the Rings Online Beta before release. It seemed like everyone got a chance for an invite if you subscribed to Gamespot or something.

I got in, and I'm a bit disappointed with their implementation so far. Basically, it's a ~80 MB install, but anything outside of your default home and the default clothes has to be downloaded, not a huge deal, but still this causes a pause in menus and shit the first time you load up a different shirt. This is more annoying when switching areas, as they obviously are bigger. One was around ~35MB... yea, not huge but I've already installed Home, and now I'm having to wait more? It just would have been great if they provided a big installer that included everything so far.

You had to download the Home theme that came out in a PSN update a while back. I don't know if you can still be entered, but they said they're going to keep adding people in waves until the beta opens up.
I checked it out briefly. I am not impressed yet... Probably won't be.
I would much rather be in the LBP beta.

Hmm, I was using that when it came out, up until a week or two ago when the Mirror's Edge theme came out (my own wallpapers though.)
Oddly, I did get/download the SOCOM beta, but haven't tried it...I should do that if it's single player.

I don't think you'd have to actually use the theme, though I did. Just downloading it was said to be sufficient.
However, I have a theory about Qore being somehow involved behind the scenes. Do you subscribe to that?
Also, SOCOM is only multiplayer. I didn't like the beta for that either. I was hoping for a GRAW2 clone, I guess.

Bought the Qore subscription from the first episode...so maybe it's just a matter of time. It's how I got the SOCOM beta, actually.
And I refuse to play multiplayer anything with complete strangers...have to at least have a passing acquaintance with at least some of the people, so no beta for me.
