Wow! We just got back from the beach and getting ice cream and my mom called me over to read the forums. Thank you so much! This is really cool!

I am 10 years old today so I am not old enough to go see rated R movies yet but my mom is willing to take me if it is cool enough. She won't take me to Death Race because she says it is a date movie but she was fine with Tropic Thunder which was wicked awesome! And my mom let me stay home from school today to play video games all day! I totally beat Civilization Revolution on the acoplyse level. I love that game.

I get to have a tv and dvd player in my room now. I am not allowed to have cable but that is ok. She is making me a dvd binder that I can have in my room of approved movies. I also get to make my first computer this year. I am so excited! I want to make it a gaming computer since my mom's has over a terabyte hard drive but doesn't have the fastest processor or a ton of memory. She uses it as a server mainly and just works off her laptops. I want one though that is wicked. And she said that she would have her friend paint anything on it for me. She is a really good artist. And I got ideas from watching Yoshi on ScreenSavers.

I wanted to build my first robot this year but my mom said I can start with small things and reading and stuff but I am not allowed to build her a maid yet. She said that I have to learn about that stuff so I don't accidentally make skynet or something.

This has been such a cool day and this just made it even better. I am so glad my mom lets me watch the show and post on here. Thanks everyone. You are totally awesome!

Happy birthday. You are one great kid. And you got a great mom. I started to cry when you said you wanted to make her a robot maid. That is soooo thoughtful. Live Long and Perspire! ;)

BTW, I'm jealous of you. If I had a TV in my room growing up was when I'd take our portable grey Sony one and put it in there. I had a computer, but only the ones my dad no longer used. So far, your birthday sounds pretty rad. I gotta say I'm jealous myself.

Yeah pretty much.

The dvd player and tv in the room is amazing, the dvd binder of cool flicks *gasp*.... but my jaw shattred when it dropped from reading that his mom let him stay home from school to play vid games all day. Plus a computer this year !?!

I played vid games all day by myself for my birthday. I'm hiring Diane for my next one.

Anakin, hurry up and move to L.A. so I can play with you.

My niece, Elly, turned 12 yesterday, and I turned 33 last week. So the both of us are each 2 years older than you and your mom, we can double date !

I hope this doesn't come across as condescending, because that's totally NOT how I'm trying to sound...

Dude, you are so COOL for a 10 year old. The fact that you seem to have a knowledgeable understanding of computers, the fact that you managed to beat Civ Rev, and that you aspire to build your mom a robot maid, HOLY.
I don't think even I was that cool when I was 10 ;)

Happy Birthday Anakin, I'm sure Diane is so proud to have a rad son like you !

Please don't encourage him. He already is hitting me up for video equipment. He was looking at a $3500 camera and wants to paint his room with one wall green. Normally I would I would encourage it out right, but a)don't have $3500 to spend on a camera and b)he seems to be under the impression I will do the editing and production.

Such a goober.

late too, sorry! But from the father of Anakin (my son is 11 and also a geek in training), to another Rad Anakin, I hope your day was great! Sure sounded like it! I loved hearing that you are going to build your own computer. VERY COOL! And while it was sweet of you to look out for your mom like that, as cute as she is, I'm sure she'll do just fine ;)
