since the TRS guys are being sponsored by merc 2 does that mean we won't be seeing a review of this game?

Maybe I would like to see what they say about it. Even if the issue was about if their review was good enough for the company to keep putting ads on the shows I think they would take the risk.

I think this has been brought up before, but not about mercenaries 2. A while back I think they acknowledged the issue when the Gamespot controversy came about.

Also it's worth noting that Diggnation still covered the article on Godaddy.com bidding against customers domain auctions, despite them being a sponsor.

I doubt the guys would do any different. Because, you know, they rock.

Of course this would only be an issue if they liked the game. Because if they didn't, no one would suspect their opinion being tainted. But if they did like it, people wouldn't know on what grounds they truly like it or not. I still trust them enough not to be suspect of their motives and opinions.

Most likely:
Alex would only play about 1/5 of the game before going back to WoW,
Dan would only get 2/3 through the game before having to pass it on to Jeff,
Jeff would be the only one able to play it through by the time the show goes into production. Then passing it back to Dan to finish it off after the show has been recorded.
Steve would have his own copy to do what he wishes, and we would never hear what he thought.

Steve definitely needs to give his $ .02 ...at least now and then. Maybe just a quick blurb on a lower third, or a scroll or an insert...who knows. He's creative...do the Steve thing with it.

Hell, I have it but won't be playing it for awhile, also. Never finished the first one...I'd do a few missions and then find it far too alluring to run/drive/fly around destroying things for kicks.

All three...(60GB PS3 with the chip, even) and the 26.4k is on the laptop while at work, I have DSL at home.

I do prefer to by PS3 versions if it's cross platform, though...mainly since I've been using a PS2 for years before the PS3, and the xbox is a new creature to me.

Xbox controllers suck. We should PS2 is online sometime, although, all I have is fightnight3 and socom3.

I rented and played half of Combined Assault. I used to play socom 1 and 2 every night for hours and hours. I have 9 vhs tapes of highlight reel footage. Socom 3, just a little bit. It was buggy online when it first started and they've all been very cheat heavy.

Back to Mercs 2, I'm having fun with it, yes, there are glitches, yes, there's problems with co-op, and yes, it's really hard to die, but when you see things go boom it's hard not to smile. It's not a perfect, not even a great game but it is fun, and in entertainment that is all that matters ibn the end.

I'm curious as well... I started re-playing Mercs 1 just for the hell of it, and I can't believe I never finished it. But, in the madness that is the holiday gaming season, I'll likely pick up Mercs 2 when it hits the $30 range.
