so there's various reports to day that this is go, some saying it'll be all CGI, some say live action, what would we want from a new film? my money's on:

- the guys have retired having got rid of all those nasty ghosts
- ghosts come back
- 'lets get the band back together' - leading to hilarious 'what are they up to now' bit
- old dudes try to get back into the swing of things, aided by some young bucks...god that sounds scarily like indy 4

please dont let it suck, please dont let it suck, please dont let it suck...

also makes sense of why the game was bumped...

I really want to be excited for this, but it needs to be done right. I want to see all the original actors in this movie. I don't mind them bringing in some new blood because it makes sense that the guys are getting too old to be busting some ghosts. As long as none of the new guys start swinging through the trees with monkeys it should be all good. I'm not gonna hold my breath on this one. But I will hope!

My take:

The original Ghostbusters have retired due to minimal paranormal activity.
The passing of a comet/planets lining up/any typical paranormal event that happens to bring about a significant increase in activity.
Comedy Happens.
The Ghostbusters See no significance in the events, since nothing will happen until the actual event.
A group of 'younger' guys discover the event is happening through some old scripture and seek to get the Ghostbusters out of retirement.
Comedy happens with the younger group talking with the original crew.
The original crew tells the younger guys that if they want the job done, go do it themselves. (slams door)
Now the rest of the movie is the young gang trying to figure out the equipment and procedures, hilarity ensues.
At the end of the movie... when s#!s about to break off, and the Young crew has taken on way more than the expected. Through the smoke of recent destruction four figures emerge....

WHO YAH GONA CALL!
GHOSTBUSTERS!

They save the day in epic fashion.

EPILOGUE:
At the end of it all, the massive paranormal event has opened small rifts in the city/world allowing ghosts and spooky stuffs to take place again. The original crew sees something in the new crew and decides to officially open Ghostbusters once more, but only as management staff or consultants to the new group.

NEH neh NEH neh na na na NEH neh NEH neh
we aint afraid of no....

EDIT:
With the Apatow rumors: the new crew
-Seth rogan
-Craig Robinson
-Paul Rudd
-Jay Baruchel

alt picks:
Brian Baumgartner
Rainn Wilson

The bad guy:
Bruce Campbell

I'm not really excited by the idea of Ghostbusters 3. Of course I'll go see it if they make it. But I would be suprized if it were bad.

But I'm not one of those people who thinks that if they make a bad sequel or remake of something, it will some how ruin the original. As long as they don't make Slimer shoot first or replace the proton packs with walkie-talkies, I be fine.

The game is supposed to be the 3rd since a couple actors refuse to be in a new film.
And the talk of a CGI film is older news than the game itself.

Bruce Campbell

I'm not sure how I would feel about that, but I can't help but want to see it.

I'm not a fan of Apatow and company...so that killed it right there, reading his take...and then he mentioned Bruce. I'd sit through it.

First things first:

I'm down.

Second things second:

Apatow needs to do his Muppet Movie before he touches Ghostbusters.

====

All that being said, I keep thinking of the old crew deep into retirement with some new paranormal blowout calling them back to action... Problem is, "the shits gotten real," and they need the help of some of the new guys.

Enter:

Justin Long: Yay!
Seth Rogen: Maybe...

I wouldn't want more than two new dudes. Thats it.

Also...

DON'T SCREW WITH THE THEME SONG!
