not to bash the show if it is your favorite. But I hate those types of shows. they present themselves as scientific then don't even use proper scientific techniques to come to a LOGICAL conclusion. I guess that's why its on Scifi.

Its really bad when shows like that are on the Discovery channel. total BS. with the hundreds of shows that have covered the topic of ghosts, the hoards of "scientific" groups, you would think the topic would be a resounding "Maybe" but its not even that creditable. They cant even come up with enough content in the past 100 years to produce "Maybe" scientifically.

I hate that and I hate the UFO/alien stuff they show on the History Channel. First; they usually have nothing to do with history.

And second; they're all basicly just saying the same thing over and over again. All they do is interview crazy people and show grainy footage.

The guys on the show do approach it with science and logic, but the producers lean on the theatrical side of things, rather heavily.

I like the show.
Only one I ever saw where they act level headed about it and try to disprove it and don't do the cheesy shit.
Just the ads to promote the show try to rely on old theatrics.

Not just the ads. It's very 'produced', which is funny in contrast to the serious approach the guys take (wen they aren't pranking on each other). I'll admit, about 75% of the episdoes are production filler, musical cues and a creepy voiced announcer bs, and that 75% of the series are hogwash nothing paranormal wastes of time, but then there are things that are just too questionable to ignore. The TAPS guys themselves, aim to debunk everything they encounter and only conclude 'haunted' when they are left with no other options. Some of the episodes are pretty damn inconclusive, with a huge dash of WTF. See the Sate Penitentary ep, and the first Stanley Hotel ep.

First off you have to have an open mind, if you think its fake then you'll watch and say its clearly fake. And also the big thing to remember is the team on the show (T.A.P.S.) there a real business they were around a while before scifi picked them up and started filming episodes. plus they wouldn't get nothing from faking the $hit that happens, if they did and people realized it there actual business would go under fast .Any way I think they go about making the show as scientific as they can. There's no set way to search for paranormal activity. There's no ghost finding tool, they use the tools that work for them. I like it cause they bring a lvl head into it. There not like oh i feel this place is haunted, "what do you think psychic bob" no they bring dv cameras, sound recorders, ir cameras, thermal cameras, some pretty high end stuff, then they go about trying to disprove a haunting and half the time they do. If you have only seen a few episodes then you don't get it, every episode is different. In some there will be a $hit tone of activity then in others nothing. One of my favorite episodes is from season 2 its called St. Augustine light house, there was some crazy $hit going on there.

um how many episodes have you seen cause clearly you don't like the show so how would you know what 75% of the entire show is? and yea there are musical cues what show doesn't have them. and the creepy voiced announcer doesn't have any thing to do with the show he just tells you whats going to be in the show like alot of shows on tv have.

75% of the series are hogwash nothing paranormal wastes of time

yet again you've seen every episode in the series to say that? i have seen all but but maby 10 episodes and i can say that maby half aren't omg wtf was that! but there some that aren't as exciting as others ,sure what show doesent have a few lame episodes. thats what makes it real if it was all bs every this they do would be like wtf!!!!

Read it again captain obvious.... I just posted about how much I like the show. I've seen all of the episodes, except whatever current season is on, 5, I guess.

We're talking about the production value, or bullshit aspect. The musical cues and creepy voiced guy, are the bullshit aspect that make skeptics cringe. I was pointing out, that despite the huge bullshit aspect that sci-fi pumps into the show produciton, it's still a good show.

Yet again, I have watched all the series, from the beginning, but not including the current season.
Season 3 onwards, has had alot of double location episodes. Quick, in and out, nothing to see here. Those are the episodes that don't need to be aired. Real doesn't mean you have to air the worthless episodes, but add extraneous hype and bs to them so ppl are whipped into a worthless frenzy. If they only aired the substantial episodes, the general public would take the show more seriously, instead of having episodes full of bs, that contain no paranormal content whatsoever. An entire episode that finishes with "nothing, I heard, saw, got nothing" when they are examining evidece, doesn't need to be aired.

thats what makes it real if it was all bs every this they do would be like wtf!!!!

You wanna try typing that sentence again?

All that being said, the show isn't going to be reviewed by TRS any time soon.

Yup, about 18 years old aren't they?

One of my favorite episodes is from season 2 its called St. Augustine light house, there was some crazy $hit going on there.

Good episode, is that's the one with the guy looking at them over the railing from the top of the stairs ? Then they go up to see what's up there and they hear the footsteps above them going higher, then they get to the top and a security motion sensor light comes on, and they are the only ones up there with a locked door and only one way down. Yeh, that was a good one.

They did one lighthouse that was lame, but it was worth it when Jason and the Coast Guard officer were standing on the rocks fishing and talking about the bright light in the water and fog, and then suddenly the coast guard guy snaps into action and freaks out and goes, "oh shit that's a flare"... and a second later they are rescuing stranded fishermen.

Watching a show about ghost on tv is like watching a magic show on tv.

You've got one point of view, you're seeing what they're showing you. You hear what they want you to hear. See what they want you to see.

Nothing on tv is really real. So it just seems pointless to me.

ok cool enough i take back all that stuff i said sounds like you know your shit. ya they do have some filler episodes but i have to imagine it saves scifi money so they don't have to wad through all the crap and pick out a full season of good ones, that's a lot of wasted film.

ya i totally fed that one up :) ops

probably not but i can hope.

The Star Wars documentary on History Channel was absolute crap.

And yes. Ghost hunters is stupid.
