Is anybody using Google's new release of Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/view/)? It works very well and is my favorite web-based feed reader. I finally am getting into the habit of not going to websites and letting the feed come to me... it's much more efficient.

It has improved, and its better then some readers that I have tryed, but I still think there are some features and ways that it's missing.

I have never really gotten into web based readers much. I certainly understand the concept, but it seems like you somehow miss part of the experience by not visiting the actual site.

For example, when I search I usually just use the built in google search function in Fire Fox, I rarely go to Google.com, and so I usually miss out on the fun logos they do for holidays and special events. Now granted it's not a big deal, but there is something to be said for visiting a website. Assuming of course you are not overly pressed for time, I certainly understand that if you are in a time crunch and just want to 'catch-up', a web based RSS aggregator is probably great.

Yeah - i prefer the RSS client i use over a web-based client, i like the little thing that sits in my tray and pops up every 15 minutes or so with new news. It's easier to find out when there's an update then with a web-based reader where i would have to keep a firefox tab open at all times if i wanted updates.

Though i can see benefits of the Reader - for people at work or school who cant install app's for example.

I tried it out. I'm just so used to going to the actual websites and reading everything there. I can't get used to using a reader... I'm trying!

It's great for a web-based client, but I've never been able to really get myself to use them. I've been using Newsfire on OS X for awhile now and really enjoy it. Before I made the switch I was running Feeddemon, which was also very impression, but a bit bloated.

Sure, a reader is nice because it is pretty but looks aren't everything. (Take me for example:p ) I use netvibes, it just works for me. For thos of you who are unsure about RSS, take my advice, if you go to multiple blogs, an RSS feed reader is great but don't get like me and subscribe to too much stuff, then you have problems.
