It seems to me that stories from the Politics section are rarely mentioned on the show. Was this decided ahead of time or is it just coincidence I wonder? With elections coming up in the States I'd like to see an episode of Diggnation dedicated to political topics or perhaps a special show with a group of Rev3 talent having an organized discussion. Revision3 shows, especially Diggnation have a farily large audience. They could help to get the message out that despite who you're voting for, the point is to get out there and VOTE.

If they start talking politics (which they said they don't like to do) I'm sure their views will turn off a portion of the audience. So I'm sure they decided not to touch politics, except for Kevin's Obama sticker.

Yeah, they said in an episode that they purposely avoid politics articles to keep up the lighthearted nature of the show and not offend any of their viewers. As I've learned on this very forum, you start talking politics in any halfhearted manner, you'll piss a lot of people off, so it's best to just avoid them on the show. I like that.

I'm seriously glad Diggnation avoids Politics. Seems every show about it has their own agenda and can't/won't present both sides equally, and even if they try one side feels the other gets more... In any case, I completely disagree with the original poster and hope Diggnation never includes political stories.

I grew up where the right to silence about your political views was sacred.

Neither of my parents ever talked about their political views. Even to this day I find it rude of people to talk about politics. It's just too divisive. I think we all should be glad we have the right to vote for anyone, even Paris Hilton, if you think her policies would work.

BTW, I filtered out all the politics on Digg. Its too much.

I guess I missed the episode where they said that. Their reason for not discussing it does make good sense. Sorry I missed that everyone!

If not a discussion of topics by a group of Rev3 personalities, maybe just a short commercial like the Intern ones encouraging people to get out and vote no matter their political leanings?

me too, and I'm also considered filtering out world news since it seems some political stories seep into that section.

ph03n1x, I think it'd be cool if they did a short commercial all about getting out and voting (and not talking about any candidate or issues). Maybe do a parody of the Vote or Die thing... could be funny and inform people that they should vote... ooo, or maybe something like the WineLibrary commercials, where it has absolutely nothing to do with what they are actually telling us to do. I'm thinking of that one where Gary hits Alex in the head with a chair.

Politics will just turn this show to shit, plus with digg.com being filled with overwhelming one sided articles it really wouldn't be open minded. 75% of the political news stories on digg are inaccurate jabs against McCain or Palin right now.

If yo do want some political discussion - and despite being left leaning, its still pretty balanced - with minimal name calling, you might want to visit the Rev3 Politics forum (http://revision3.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=40).

If they started talking about politics I'd probably stop watching it. It might be fun initially, but the culture that surrounds the subject - especially the verbiage - encourages labelling and criticising others. It would give the show a negative tone.

never talk about religion or politics, only bad things will come of it
