Sucks. I respect Biden, always have. Smart, experienced, all that.... but I KNEW his oral disentary would cause trouble. Obama and Co needs to sit him down and drill into him that he MUST stick to script.
Did I say "Drill" ? Bad Badger!

I love Biden. I can always count on him for entertainment. He's like McCain, says what he thinks and feels without thinking about soundbites.
He is the better choice though. Granted, I really wanted Richardson.
I thought Biden would have been a great Joker. That man's smile is wicked.

Diane I respect that opinion. But the most honest presidential candidate to express his opinions without thinking of the result? That has to be Bush himself.
"Most of our imports, come from other Countries."
(Look it up, it is on tape.)
This post against Diane was all in humor.
But let's face it, Biden saying that was an example of the "F" up that this current age of Politics represents. You wanna vote for them?
ie. You like two guys in a bar. By the end of the night, one is puking in the corner. The other is kissing his Frat Brothers for a free beer. Which one do you kiss first?

Same here. I was counting on that for some outstanding foreign-policy experience, balance it out for a governor role, and bring in the Latino vote. But, as they say, I don't know if it would have played well in Wichita, which is why I assume Obama went elsewhere. Perhaps we'll have Richardson as Secretary of State?
RE: Biden's Comment
Lets see the full quote...
“Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.”
It clearly is a reactionary statement to what has happened with the Gov. Palin nomination, good or bad. What it comes down to here is that both choices (those being Palin and Clinton) are equally polarizing to some extent. While they would both serve to offset each other nicely, there was too much of a risk to take a Obama-Clinton ticket at full-face.
Both of the Clintons remain key political allies with the Obama campaign, and you can bet your ass that Hillary will be out there stumping for female votes in over the next seven weeks. We'll see what the new role for Bill will be, but that will be important for bringing in middle-class voters as well.
i really don't 'get' why not dissing hillary a fellow democrat is a bad stupid thing to do
is it 'you have to hate those who i hate' or your are no good or are stupid
Both of the Clintons remain key political allies with the Obama campaign
let me rephrase that to my humble opinion
both of the clintons remain key political figures in the democratic party
and it is entirely possible / probable that they will remain so even if obama does not win
the clintons do not need obama
obama does need them

I still think Hilary will get tapped as SecState.
Who is more powerful? VP or SecState? I'd almost argue that it is the SecState. The VP might be the shadow of POTUS, but how influential are they in the cabinet? The SecState is the senior cabinet post.

and it is the foreign policy jobI honestly think that it would be her forte, and would help build her profile in the nation's eyes for a 2016 Presidential run (unless Obama REALLY screws the pooch in 08-12).
The next presidential term needs to be a consolidation term - one that focuses on domestic issues, and eases foreign tensions. I think the Community Activist approach of Obama is perfectly suited to that task. He'll surround hiomself with expert in other fields to fill out the parts he doesn't know (regardless of if they are yes men or not). I think he needs someone to play devil's advocate with him (which is why he chose Biden) to push his ideas and provide balance.

If true, it's a perplexing admission. I'm not sure what good could come of it. Isn't this guy supposed to be a clever speaker?
Hillary and Obama are too much alike. McCain at least chose someone different. Palin is everything that McCain is not the moral conservative. McCain has a record of compromise on social issues that Palin helps mitigate. Who cares if she's got a cat-box of a resume.
Hillary and Obama do nothing for each other.
Obama's best choice would have been Edwards if the guy could have kept it in his pants. But, if Obama had anticipated McCain's move to tap the Governor of rural state with borderline out-of-touch social views and the hearts of his party's most extreme members...he would have picked Howard Dean.

It depends on how you are choosing to look at it. Dick Cheney has had a far-larger role as VP than most who had come before him, however, much of that had been exercised in foreign policy. You could make an argument that he is in fact a more powerful figure than Condi Rice (and Colin Powell before), as you can see some of that executed in his trip to Georgia last week. Go back to the previous administration, Al Gore served more as a VP in the traditional sense, who was very active on domestic issues.

You are not doing Hillary, or her causes, any good constantly being annoyed by her losing. She lost fair and square, she took the low road, and lost, He took the high road and won. Their platforms are so similar it's ridiculous. You get everything you wanted but the vagina. And his ability to out manuever such a strong competitor like her, blindside her, beat her, and still garner her respect and support proves he has the Ovum to beat the Hell out of the opposition that hates and wants to destroy everything you believe in.
I'm NOT saying get on board or go abroad, Just face facts. Obama Has proven he got what it takes to get you what you want. And ... like token says. ... Sec/State. C'mon? What could be better? Beats going to state funerals and smiling and nodding.

Not that you can read this or anything, but I don't think anyone is upset by him paying Hilary a compliment. Its that he said other candidates were better suited for the job. You don't get any votes by saying other people are better than you.

excuse me
i don't think you are the right person to be making sexist remarks
and obama has not won yet
i am beyond glad he did not choose hillary for vp
let's see how he does where it counts which is in november
in order for him to pick a secretary of state he has to be elected president and he has to make that choice not you not me not token
neither is a given
if he loses he will look like a fool
obama has not proven anything to me
unlike you that fact that he has a dick does not mean overwhelmingly much to me
he went to school he talks good sometimes that is all he has done or in imho ever will do
and actually lately he hasn't been speaking all that well either imho
i don't think he has the trajectory to vault into the oval office
you don't like that: bite me
as far as being annoyed i don't expect the average person to be that smart or to think for themselves in order to be annoyed i would first have to think those things
and for you to try to pull this macho slap down i find actually quite hilarious

how come it is way cool is diss mccain or sarah or hillary but to merely say 'i don't see it about obama' is cause for outrage

just because he says things will be better doesn't make it necessarily so

Biden was simply identifying the notion that Hillary might have been a better strategic choice. It plays differently live than in print. And besides, he didn't say that didn't make him a good choice. I don't see why it's even news. And Palin wouldn't say say for two reasons. First, she doesn't think anyone is better than her, and second, nobody has told her to.

Obama borrowed that line from John McCain. McCain used it on Hillary last year. But, it wasn't plastered all over the New York Post of two days. Obama shouldn have said, "You can't put whipped cream on a turd and call it a sundae." It means the same thing.
