None.
Still have the Dell 15gb MP3 player I bought in 2004.
Works fine still.
When I decide to get a new MP3 player well probably get a creative or a Zune.

I hate itunes.

None, I'm perfectly happy with my Sansa and don't plan on buying anything from Apple.

Wow. I had no idea such a majority of Rev3 was a minority of the mp3 player market.

What DONT you guys like about the iPod?

kronos6948

The price, and for me, the lack of usefulness. The only time I listen to music is when I'm home or driving. I don't need headphones, and I don't travel far.

What DONT you guys like about the iPod?I don't think they are ... its just the non-iPod users tend to be more vocal about it. Like they need to make some sort of validation for their poor choices.

Wait..what? How is not having something I don't need a poor choice?

It's overpriced and under featured.

none of the above. never buying a DRMinfested mp3 player again. at least not for myself. the touch was the last one i'm ever buying.

I had a Zune but it broke and am looking for something new. The new nano I like. 16gb is all the space I need.

But of course if I can find a 16gb or more alot cheaper thats red I will get it instead.

Itunes, drm, price, can get the same features and more from other products.
That is just IF I were to get a new MP3 player.
But right now the one I bought 4 years ago still works great when I use it and don't use it too often.
Not much need for an MP3 player ATM.

People talking about not enough features blah blah blah. Who cares about features. Some of us just want a player with random and shuffle and enough storage for all their music. Everything else is useless and not needed.

I love my little first gen nano, I use it for audio podcasts at my boring job, and that's pretty much it. But if you like something else, that's great, but don't use untrue reasons to justify it. The DRM is ONLY on songs (and not all of them) from the iTunes store. You can put any music you want on the iPod from any source, same as you can with other players. The iPod itself, nor the iTunes software "create" Drm on ripped songs, amazon purchaced and/or anyother downloaded MP3s.

Everyone wants to convert me to apple so I figure ipod is the first step in that direction. :D

How is wanting something better a poor choice? I want a device that has support for tons of video formats, tons of audio formats. That's it, and the ipod, it doesn't have that, and it's more expensive.

And why is it when things like this come up, people respond like we're insulting their mothers. It's just a preference.

I'm still satisfied with a 5th gen 60GB iPod I got in April 2006. No plan to upgrade anytime soon.

I don't understand the features and iTunes (DRM) argument. The iPod touch does tons of things and countless others thanks to the App store. That makes the possibilites just about endless as far as features concern. Unless you want to use the iPod to shave too or something. There is a virtual beer applicatoin for crying out loud- what else do you want?

As far as iTunes and DRM concerns. Who said you had to purchase your music on iTunes?

again apple makes a fine product that cost way too much. for the little amount that i use a mp3 player (or whatever they are being called now) my cheap little sansa works just fine.

...says the guy coding a touch/iPhone app. ;)Sssshhhhhhh .....

I have also (in ther past) done Brew (code on cellphones for Verizon/Sprint), and PalmOS (PalmVII and Mistrel wireless packet modems). I even experimented with the Android Dev Kit late last year (abandoned that effort - SDK unstable ... every change they made broke my code where I had put in fixes for the stuff that was broken in the SDK).

I also love my Crackberry, and will probably port my code for the iPhone/touch over to the new Blackberry Thunder/Storm when its released.

I am not exactly an Apple fan boy. Allthough, I now own 3 iPods ... an 80GB 5.5G "Classic" that replaced a stolen 8GB 1G nano (mainly live in car attached to my Alpine HU), an 8GB 2G nano wideboy received as a gift from my employer - and used by my wife, and an 8GB 1G touch I use for development - received as part of recent education deal (that I bought my first mac in over 15 years).

Sssshhhhhhh .....

What? you been telegraphing it all over here and twitter for months. No secret. I ROCK at keeping secrets. I got secrets ALL over the web. but ya gotta say "don't tell" first, cause then I NEVER will. I got my OWN secrets, too, that I been trustin with some of you. And been trusted with. I fucking hate gossip and shit. One of the reasons my ex and me broke up. He thrived on gossip and secrets. i thought it a betreayal. still do. always will.

oh, and yeah, I'd be JUST fine with a low end touch. as long as Tokens ap can run on it. ;)
