I've been a fan of Andy Ihnatko's intelligence and quick wit since I first heard him years ago on various podcasts. I know he's a great writer, but this eulogy (http://ihnatko.com/index.php/2008/09/14/1933-2008/) for his mother had tears streaming down my face, literally. :(

I wanted to write a long post here, and on Andys blog about how this affects you, your personality and everything that has to do with you. But I wont, and I can't.

He knows this, or he will soon. Throughout this experience he has joked about things, wrote interesting things and been incredibly humble. Yet, he has never mentioned his mother, or her sickness. Which proves that he doesn't crave sympathy or pitty. That he is capable of accepting tough things and getting past them.

There isn't much to say. My she rest in piece. Also, may Andy and his collegues live a terrific life. I enjoy his work, it brightens my day and my life.

I found it when he twittered a simple tweet. "1933-2008" then the link.

He barely knows me from adam (he has replied to a tweet or two, so he knows I exist) but I couldn't let that go without saying something back.

I tweeted "@Ihnatko I'll never look at your wonderful hat the same way again. Godspeed. And no wasted bandwidth there. Celestial, yes. Wasted? Never."

I hope that gives him a little smile.
