I wonder if the younger voters' enthusiasm for Obama will be blunted at all by the fact that ex-RIAA Luca Brazzi, Hillary Rosen is one of his principle advisers and talk heads?

DRM is a geek issue. The general population (iTunes reference you pointed out) could care less. The majority has no clue what it even is.

I am really thinking about music piracy--which is as close as an "everyman" issue as there is in the pre-25 set.

Yes people pirate music but as I said before most people really have no clue what DRM even is.

I'm not quiet sure what you're trying to get at here. Could you elaborate?

Obama is counting heavily on new voters, specifically young voters in college, and in urban areas. To many of those people Hillary Rosen, who led the charge of law suits against downloaders for the RIAA is the anti-christ. Maybe only Jack Thompson is more reviled.

Now she is a top adviser to Obama. I would think that there would be at least some blowback from that. The don't need to know about DRM specifically (I just used the DRM DNC thing as a catchy title).

well since most people don't know Hillary Rosen is ( i didn't and i kinda keep up with these things) and i don't see McCain coming out pro pirate i don't see it being a big enough blow back to matter.

Agreed. I also didn't know who she was. I honestly never heard a non geek complain about the RIAA. Everyone pirates, it just seems that geeks are the ones that make a big deal over it. I don't foresee this changing anything.
