Adobe has officially announced Creative Suite 4, and I am sure we will be seeing Bert working with it once it is released. Looking forward to seeing the new features. I will probably be upgrading from CS3 to this at some point. At least the upgrade pricing is still worth significant savings as the cost of the product is still substantial. Anyone planning on upgrading right away?

Bloody hell, I just got CS3. It still has that new car smell to it. Now I have to look out for CS4.

I have seen the Beta and well not impressed. It just seems to be tweaks to the already listed tools, filters and such. I don't see how it is worth $200 to upgrade unless someone can show me otherwise.

Well hopefully Bert will cover the new features so we can see what exactly has been added to both PS and AI.

I have used the Beta, actually was in the program, and I will definitely be upgrading. Everyone is going to have a different take on any software program that releases an upgrade. If you have high expectations, maybe you need a whole bunch of new and obvious functionality then you might not feel that there is enough for you. On the other hand, if there are many small changes that will make your life a whole bunch simpler then you might just jump at it at the first chance.
Things like content aware scaling are huge and could not see how anyone would not be impressed with this. Yes, you have to be careful in how you use it but on the right image it is just amazing. Having a preview on cloning makes this much easier. I find that it runs much faster than CS3 and Bridge has been redone and is also much faster. There are no shortage of sites listing the changes to this program so I am not going to repeat those here verbatim. I am saying that for me there is plenty in here to justify making the upgrade to CS4.

Just the addition of stuff like being able to turn on and off graphic style visibility, clipping masks that prevent you from selecting the hidden parts, a interactive gradient tool with transparency stops and the blob brush all make me want to upgrade now. Multiple art boards will greatly improve the way I work.
I always have artwork on my main artboard but off to the sides I keep other elements I want to work on separately until I'm ready to add them to the piece. Being able to switch back and forth will make it so much easier. It really does look like Adobe is listening and instead of adding a whole bunch of new features they went back and refined what was already there.
I for one can't wait. The only apprehension I have is having it break some of the vital plugins I use like Phantasm and XtreamPath. Hopefully they will get an update as well.

I am a little afraid of not having tool pallets. I can understand the desire to have a dock and window pane style tools, but I personally hate it. I like to have the option of having all of my tools out and visible in any order I choose without snapping into position. Other than that I am excited. The blob brush in Illustrator and the new 3d functions of Photoshop make it worth the transition for me.

Just wondering, what are the Phantasm and Xtreampath plugins for? I havnt used any plugins on PS before, and I was just curious as to what they were for
