I have only just discovered how awesome you are. Hence, you are forbidden to end your podcast.

I cannot be disobeyed. I was a demi-goddess in a minor Internet religion, I've been drawn as a comic heroine, and I will beat you at the video game of your choosing.

i just heard that geekdrome is over and i was compelled to post. i first learned about geekdrome the first time they were mentioned on diggnation and when i first listened, i was immediately hooked. dan's (and jonathan's) opinions on movies and especially comics were so right on the money that i never missed a show. the segment "comics for people who don't read comics" was perfect for me and it opened my eyes to great ones such as preacher, y the last man, 100 bullets, the walking dead, bones, blankets, etc. etc. (basically every single freakin' recommendation!!!) i know the forums are still here, but since i'm never really at the computer long enough to devote enough time to forums properly, what am i to do now?
dan, you will be missed. over the past year you became someone i really trusted and, in an odd sense, a good friend. i hope you reconsider your decision and come back... dromies never say die...

You can't do this to us! Damn, Im really gonna miss the show. Geekdrome was one of my favorite things to watch during the week. You can't get that kind of stuff on tv. You guys will be well missed.

I watch/listen to many podcasts and by far this was my favorite. Its a bummer that it won't be around in its previous form. I will miss the ying and yang chemistry of the show, but I am sure Jlo hopefully upcomming show will fill my geek needs. Good luck to you both. :)

I've been watching for about six months or so now and lurking around here once in a while. Just heard the news and came by to say - get the bucket ready now - this is totally gay.

However, best of luck with whatever's next! For the last six months, once a week, you have entertained the shit out of me. I watched Brick on your recommendation and I'm halfway through Pride Of Baghdad right now. Awesomeness all round. Thanks for those two and whole ****load more.

I just wanna know what the HELL happened??? Why the sudden end to such a good thing? I don't care about what shows are gonna be coming out or whatever I just want to know what the hell happened??? Did danny get tired of Jlo slappin him around? Did the ACLU come after you guys for having a, "gay" bucket??? Is someone PMSing??? In other words, this is retarded. You guys can't just go out like this. You can't leave us viewers with a bad taste in our mouths. Look at all the good stuff you've done. Think of Tyson and everything you guys did for him. There should be at least a good bye show and an explanation of what the ***k happened. This is a sad and common theme among geeks shows I guess. TechTV gets taken over by G4 and gets rid of all the best shows with out any explanation. thebroken just stops airing, one of my all time favorite shows, Freaks and Geeks, just up and gets canceled. Are geeks just not worthy of quality programming??? I say NO!!! We don't deserve to be thrown aside like this anymore. Come on dromies, rise with me and demand what we rightfully deserve!!! *Sigh*, or not...

Jon. You've already established your cast of characters, use them. Bring in Jeff, Alex, Brian, or the little dude from Heroes (he'd be great because he'd just absorb your "Wacky" super powers). Or better yet, three words - HOT CHICK CO-HOST!

I too thought his GF would be a perfect co-host. kind of like a mulder/scully thing. he can be really into geek stuff. she can be a little skeptic about the things he reports.

The news hit me hard too, and we may not understand the circumstances, but I'm sure something as big as geekdrome wouldn't be stopped without its reasons. This does beat out any TV series that's ever been canceled because Jon and Dan have become parts of lives, (just look at the forums). It is sad but what has to happen has to happen. Thanks for the great times and all the work you guys put in to the show. It may stop but the drommies will live on. The best of luck to both of you and thanks again for ruining my social life every single week for the past year lol.

Really shouldn't be so gutted about a random podcast, but for some reason I am.

I remember looking for something to listen to on the way to Uni, and downloaded about 20 podcasts I'd never heard of and tried them out. Wierdly, the only reason I persevered with 'drome was because one of the presenters revealed he was the brother of one of my favourite wrestlers. It was just chance that the show was as brilliant as it was.

My 25 minute walk to University is going to seem a lot longer now.

Total brilliance. I fully expect to see Greekdrome live on in Jon and a guest host that will always be referred to as "Dan" even though it may be Alex, Jon's mom, etc. Thus we never forget Dan's legacy. Does anyone know if Jon has considered keeping Geekdrome moving on or am I going to cry every Monday morning at work, because it's already started.:(

I don't post much, mainly lurk and read everyone posts but I feel a compelling urge to do so, just to jump on the wagon and say thanks for a year of awesome-ness, because I met my best friends because of this show from when I moved to America, I also got my job just to see free movies so I can keep up with all the reviews you do; and the best of luck to Jon and Dan, hope to see all of your endeavors pay off, and can't wait for your new show, Jon; and all the other stuff your both planning, which I will wait with anticipation to see, read, watch and enjoy; and thanks to all the people behind the scenes who helped bring us a year of kickin' drome-ing and kept us geeks happy. You guys rock, and while it's sad to bring this series to an end, it went down like the best (Firefly, Freaks and Geeks etc.) as a one-hit wonder (or one year plus one week, if you will).

Ok so I haven't posted as much as I'd like since the rev3 relaunch. I come here today and see this. I'm stunned to say the very least. I certainly will miss the show. This is right up there with the TECHTV/G4 merger as the most disappointing news involving my nonfiction shows.

Geekdrome made me be alot less embarassed about my hobbies and interests. I mean there are plenty of moments outside of the show that I won't forget. I remember debating over who should be NBA MVP Steve Nash or Kobe Bryant in the AOL chat for example. (I still say Kobe!) Jonathan and Dan, I truly appreciate the memories! Good luck to both of you in whatever you pursue.

Wow, this sucks.

I discovered Geekdrome not too long ago and have been slowly making my way thru the videocasts (just finished the ComicCon one). Decided to check the forums to see why there had not been a new one in a few weeks. Very sorry to see this end as it had been a real joy listening/watching so far. I guess I can still look forward to the 18 "new" episodes I have not watched yet.

Best of luck to both of you guys and I look forward to what you roll out next.

I'll be damned. I am very new to the show and this community. I had heard of Geekdrome only after Alex Albrecht mentioned it on Diggnation a while back, and decided to go check it out since I'm a huge fan of everything sans the comic books (even Comic Books for People Who Don't Like Comic Books). I ended up liking the hell out of the show. It was hilarious, informative, and very real. I'm still in the process of watching the old episodes that I missed, and am disheartened to find out that it's cancelled.

It sucks to see the show die by hitting a brick wall. I don't know what "personal issues" means, but watching all of the old episodes in such a short time frame, I can only guess it had something to do with you two not getting along? I mean there were a lot of times where it seemed John crossed the line, but maybe I'm wrong. Regardless... Dan, can't say I blame you for going man. Nice "knowing" you, and good luck.

Ever feel like you ran away from home and then when you wise up and decide to go home again that your home got bulldozed? Yeah, that's me right now.

I've been away a while and now I don't even know how to deal with this "news" right now. I just hope that the "personal problems" don't have to do with JLo and Mr. T working together because I would definatly like to see something new come from this catastrophe. You two work off each other really well and when Jon isn't jumping on the table in a luchador mask I think you seem to have a good time together. Cheers and thanks for the memories.
