Hi,

I just recently build an Ubuntu Linux BOX and I love it. Here is the problem that I'm having.
I can't play my DVD movies. I getting an error. Is there any other DVD decoder program
that is easy to install and configure for my Linux BOX.

Thanks

The only problem the licensing on the dvd decoder. It is something you may have to pay for unless you are not where us law applies. I know that dells sold with linux come with the software for dvd playback now.

www.ubuntu,com i think sells one.

No need to buy additional software. Just enable DVD playback (http://www.funnestra.org/ubuntu/hardy/#totem) (HOWTO for Ubuntu 8.04) on your existing Totem/Movie Player. Better yet, add the Xine backend and you will be able to play back virtually any media format available.

It's been a while since I used Ubuntu, so the menu names could be wrong, but...Go to the menu and click on System -> Add Programs, then wait for it to load and if it wants to check for updates, let it. In the pull down menu choose View All Applications or some such thing. The type 'restricted' in the search field and install the package that comes up.
