Watchmen Question ****Spoiler Alert*** (Question deals with the end)

So, I finally got around to reading Watchmen, and LOVED it! Still liked it on the first read, but even better the 2nd time around. You catch a lot of ties, foreshadowing, etc. that I missed the first time around, just trying to take it all in.

That being said, I can't shake one glaring hole in the story line: How did The New Frontiersman editor (his name escapes me) and his assistant, Seymour survive the attack on New York? Is there some explanation I'm forgetting, or is this fact left as ambiguous as the ending the characters play out for us in the end?

Dident one of the characters (Oyz?) say that he/i blew up half of NY or somthing? maybe nor a have maybe 2 thirds or somthing-dosent really matter. the Frontiersman editor and his assistant were simply not blown up in the teliportation explosion

Yeah, I suppose that works. I was thinking their office was so close to where the creature teleported surely they wouldn't be one of the ones to survive. But it happened at 11:25 PM, so it's likely they'd gone home.
