I bought sonic the other day just to see how it all worked. I forgot how good it is. I'm looking forward to Toejam and Earl this month also. I never played that one back then... possibly because I was about 6

i think one of the first ones they'll release is super mario rpg for snes. they haven't re-released it and square enix seems to be onboard with nintendo for a few games

Super Mario RPG is the SHIZNITZ! I'm really craving for some Super Ghosts and Goblins too.

Same here, anybody know any dates on this? Also Nintendo said that theyll be releasing, I think, 4 games a week on the VC. So im sure by xmas we'll see some good stuff.

My friend got F-Zero, and all it did was remind me how much I loved F-Zero X for Nintendo 64 and how it was the superior game. Really the only game that interests me on VC is Ecco, I never had a Genesis and I'd always start a new game of it on my friends, so much fun.

Thats partly why Im so interested in the VC games. I never had a game console till the n64 rolled around, before that I only played them at friends houses day in day out. Itll be cool to play some games I missed out on back in the day. Cause reliving them is never the same.

zombi

Btw, whats the average going points price on the games? I only ask because I havent seen any wii points cards that arent 2,000 points.

sevenduffs

NES - 500
Turbographix - 600
Genesis/SNES - 800
N64 - 1000

I think that the prices should be half this, $10 for a virtual N64 game is a bit much for certain games. And Pinball is definately NOT worth $5

If 1 point is 1 cent, why not just list everything in how much it costs. I find it annoying.

zombi

It is true that 10 bucks for some 64 games is too much, but for games like StarFox 64 its kinda cheap if you remember that at launch cost like 70 bucks ( I think)

sevenduffs
12-05-2006, 02:44 AM
yea, it all depends on the game. Like you wouldn't really care if you payed 10 bucks for Ocarina of Time or Paper Mario but there's definitely some games that I would buy for 6 or 7 bucks. 5 Bucks for every game no matter the system seems like it would sell more titles.

Because the games cost the same amount of points internationally, its how much the points costs that changes from region to region. And its all based around the Yen, in Japan 1 point = 1 Yen.

I find it annoying that you get points left over after buying a game that you can't use like 400. Thats BS nintendo that I have to purchase more points to use my leftover change.

sevenduffs
12-06-2006, 12:41 AM
you'll be purchasing more games no matter what. you know there's going to be tons of games coming out. just let those points sit

It was also the first game to have a rumble pak bundled with it.

I love my wii, but when I have all of the games on my pc running off emulators already, I'm not paying 10 dollars for them.

If they developed something like joystiq.com mentioned today with a wii-tap ordeal with a monthly fee and download as much as you want, I might consider it.

I haven't gotten a wii yet, but am thinking about really stressing that I want it for xmas from all my friends, my parents, and then maybe pitching in some myself (i'm poor). This is what will decide if I get one or not, answer these q's for me please:

So I know you can download games onto the wii from old nintendo systems, but do they look and play exactly the same? Do you totally own them and play them and save on them as if you OWN an n64 or super nintendo? I need the following n64 games to be on here:
-ocarina of time
-mario kart 64
-bomber man 64
-goldeneye
-star fox64
and for original nintendo:
-mario

and i heard sonic in there...do they also have genesis games? Does the wiimote lend itself to N64 games can you get an n64 style wiimote for it? Does the wiimote vibrate? Are only n64 games 10 bucks each, or are other systems more/less expensive?

what is the meaning of life?

thanks! brian.

I'm sure all those games will be on there eventually. All the games play exactly the same. There is the classic controller which you can buy for 20 bucks which you can use for VC games and also for super smash bros brawl when it's released. Wiimote does vibrate.

NES - 5 bucks (500 points)
SNES - 800 points
N64 - 1000 points (only mario 64 for now)
Turbographix - 600 points
Genesis - 800 points

Duuude, thanks a lot Sevenduffs. Hey guys, any word on how long till we get more N64 games up in this shit? Cause if they reeeeeeaaallly expand their N64 library (and i can't beLIEVE they have turbografix...they might as well put dreamcast games on that shit...sega cd too...the wii would ****ing KILL), I'll definetely get one. But I've always wanted an N64 and never had one, sadly. And also want a wii pretty bad, so i figure two awesome birds, no, eagles, with one stone.

As for the controlling the n64 games, Nintendo does make the classic controller which plugs into the Wiimote or you can use a gamecube controller.

I also heard they are supposed to be releasing 4 or 5 new games on the virtual console each week.

awesome, thanks a lot guys. So lemme get this straight, the games download onto your wii itself or are they kind of online through the wifi? Would a lack of internet connection after you d/l the games cause you to not be able to play them?

I believe they go to the Wii and you can play them while it's disconnected, but I haven't bought one yet so someone else will have to test.

I love that Gilmore has three finals today and he's on here asking about VC stuff.

B-Gils, why don't you come over and try the system out for yourself before you go nuts on people? Doubles tennis is the most fun thing ever when you play on the same team against evil Mii opponents.

And Vijay got me some Ultimate Alliance for my birthday... that'll be a lot of fun multiplayer.

I got home last night about 10, bought the Legend of Zelda off of VC, played it till about 3am, went to sleep, woke up at 5, came to work, and now I'm about to go home again and play some more.

I can't wait for the Adventures of Link to come out.

Not to mention, I'm about 12 hours into Twilight Princess...

Man. I really shouldn't have bought a Wii :D

I think the Idea of playing retro games is way cool, and I'm a big fan of 90's video games, especially 2D platformers, but isn't the Wii a bit too new to get exited over games that are waaay over 10 years old? What about that new Rayman games? That looks way cool. I see a lot of people exited about Zelda. Is red steel really that bad? I though swinging a sword around would be badass?

Wouldn't retro games be best played through emulators and USB gamepads? That has been available since the late 90's

Everywhere around here has been dry of everything post-launch, but just the other day Wal-Mart had about 5 Wiimotes in stock, and that was it.

In the UK it seems impossible to even get another wiimote never mind the the classic controller.

Never mind I'm just glad I got my wii, I was really tempted to preorder but didn't and on launch day I was gutted since everywhere was sold out, then amazon emailed and said they had recieved a limited number of over over they expected stock and they would sell them at 3pm, I got one and was play at 8.30 the next morning, amazon are amazing!

Yeah, it's crazy. I just read that the Wii is the fastest selling console in the UK ever. 105,000 units in it's opening weekend. Puts the Cube to shame.

I knew I should of claimed Dyslexia while at university I would of got a free laptop and 45 minutes extra for every exam. I would of gotten the extra 2% I needed to get a 1st instead of a 2:1.

I guess I should start proof reading what I am writing on here.

It is pretty bad when a Canadian is correcting an English person's grammer.

I got an A in my English Language GSCE exam as well back when I was at school, so much for british education system.
