In a previous post I mentioned how I was starting a new program for independant study via video-chat etc. We decided to go with Adobe Connect Pro.

Here's my question: How can I get broadband connection for these kids?

I'm assuming most of them won't have good home connections. We are looking at getting broadband cards, but that could get expensive. What's my best option?

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Get Bill Gates or someone like that to fund the program.

Could you use machines at a public library?

If Verizon or other carrier was to donate the cards and data plans you could make it work but you would have to convince them that your program is worth their time.

Not remembering the basis of your original thread, I don't know what you are trying to do.

Cable Modem: Need to talk to your local cable operator about donating bandwidth.
DSL: Need to talk to your local telephone service.

Is ClearWire an option up there? Line of sight comms ... might be an option, but once it gets to the house, you need a receiver and a LAN for the PC.

No WiMax up there.

Cellular modems might work - mine (with unlimited data) is about $80/month (I am connected using it at the moment). This might be the only truly mobile solution for you.
