I concur. Also much worse language (mother****er) was left in. That's probably just someone overlooking it during the censoring/editing, but still, the censorship is so not in the spirit of Diggnation. =\

I'm surprised that Bestbuy is still in business. Every time I go there (which is rare now-a-days) they always hassle me to buy some Bestbuy card or some warranty or something else that I don't want. I don't care if the cashier passively mentions it, but they really badger you over it -- and you finally have to tell them "**** No!".

Creative Suite 4 is not yet available. You can only pre-order it. I don't know what the guys were talking about with "not a big upgrade". At least as far as Photoshop it's huge! Everyone's saying this upgrade is so much better than CS2 to CS3.

This site has videos detailing most of the new features in Photoshop CS4:
http://www.photoshopuser.com/cs4/

One thing they don't mention in there. You an finally edit the menus and keyboard shortcuts to your liking.

Re: Best Buy
Declaring shenaningans on the cancel by phone via store associate.

I work for several dot com companies and there is a security rule that is consistently across the board:
Before we can discuss/do anything regarding your order
there is a script:

"Just for security purposes could you please verify the billing address as it appears on your order?"

If they cannot verify, the discussion goes no further.
This scripting would have prevented the cancel had it be required....

So when you make your next call to a company for services
and you are asked to verify information:
Don't WHINE about it.
Do NOT sigh and get ugly.
As I say to all of my co-workers who get tired of the attitude
.. if this is our customer's worst gripe of the day
all is well in their world.
Move along. Nothing to see here.

PLUS:
Kevin was completely right.
If a customer complains
your next question to the customer *should be*
What can I do to make this better?
...and you do it. No questions asked.

Actually if I heard the story correctly the guy who made the call had a copy of the printed out receipt in his hands so he probably would have had the address right in front of him.

The censoring was really odd to me too. Kevin said shit and fuck yet asshole and flipping off aren't allowed apparently. Since when have we had any censoring in Diggnation? I have noticed there's been alot less swearing on the show for a while but censoring it when it shows up is pretty lame.

Also maybe this is just me (or just the fact I'm outside the US) but am I the only one who found it a bit weird/unnerving when Kevin & Alex started casually talking about guns at the end? I guess I sometimes forget there's quite a big cultural divide when it comes to stuff like that. I kinda felt uncomfortable during that part of the show though.

Yeah, that is just the cultural divide. I live in the US, and I'm not a red neck or anything, but I like shooting guns. I don't have them to protect my house or anything, I just like shooting them for fun.

Perhaps they felt flipping the bird was alittle further than saying the word that goes with it. I'm sure if they wanted to keep it they would have.

Guns are a part of the culture and that's the way it is. For the amount of weapons in private hands our murder rate per capita is very low. Doctors are more likely to kill you than guns.

I was put off by their stupid AIG tag. They obviously haven't thought through that very well or whoever did the graphic had an agenda. I'll think about picking up diggnation again after the election is over with. I get bombarded with BS and politics everyday I don't need that junk on my podcasts.

The censorship started at around 27:16. After 20 seconds, they muted "asshole". The censorship is kinda weird to me because not long after that, they didn't mute Alex saying "that mother fuckin'... he used to fucking..." (at 28:28)

They didn't test me on it in my Digital Imaging class (basically Photoshop 101) but then that was back in 1996 with PS 4 and it was the first time they did a class on Photoshop. They did test me on keyboard shortcuts in LightWave 3D when I was at The DAVE School (daveschool.com) and now I use them so much that I often forget where things are in the menus if I need them.

Eh, fuck it I can't change where my parents decided to live. Not like there's ever going to be a time when people find out I was a Pansy Kidd and make fun of me...wait I just put this information on a web forum. I'm sure everyone here will be kind and not insult me Right?

Wow, that first story went a bit off track. Its' called Molten Lava Cake Kevin and Chevys carries it.

Jessica is amazing after having a baby but that just goes to show you what a personal trainer can do and yes, you CAN hit the gym 2 weeks after giving birth.

As a former student who finished several health classes and pre-disposed to diabetes (controllable through diet) I can tell you that while this book sounds interesting it has many errors. First, it's not the carbs that need to be avoided. Carbs are fuel for the body. It is the starch, which converts into sugar. The higher your sugar levels the lower the insulin levels your body produces which cause your metabolism to slow down. This in turn makes your body store unnecessary fat. Going WITHOUT food ALSO will cause you NOT to lose weight because your body will store the fat it normally would burn off when new fat comes in. It's a defensive mechanism.

Yes, there are options Alex, IF you are willing to make sacrifices. Most stores carry low-fat or no-fat ranch dressings. Polyunsaturated fats are ok TRANS-fats are what you don't want. Most Nutrition books are scams just like the Atkins diets. If you want to REALLY, know how to eat healthy even WITH your favorite foods take a diabetes and health class through your doctor. It simply comes down to moderation.

NO WAY is the customer always right. That was the most pretentious slogan back in 86 when I worked fast food. It was wrong then and is still wrong now. It is an antiquated slogan of the "motivational poster" era and should never be uttered again.

As a general business practice, should you do everything possible to ensure the customer is satisfied? Absolutely. Does that mean the customer is always right? Absolutely NOT! Matter of fact in my experience in dealing with customers the majority are wrong through some error of there own doing.

Let's face it the US spawns a number of lack luster, unintelligent human beings and those numbers grow every year. That said Best Buy should just fade out of Cali as quickly as they came in. How is it that they are constantly caught doing unscrupulous business tactics but go unpunished? There is not one item in that store that you couldn’t get elsewhere and sometimes cheaper. BAN BEST BUY....BAN BEST BUY!!!

I'm kinda getting tired with how it almost seems people who are pro-guns are supposed to feel uncomfortable for being in favor of the constitution. You can't pick and choose which parts can stay and which go. When some start to get the boot, the whole thing loses power. There is nothing wrong with not hating guns. If you want to get into a gun talk, let's take it to the political subsection.

Kevin and Alex don't really read these forums...and even if they do they're not gonna talk about those things, they said on this episode that they don't like talking about politics on Diggnation (even while Kevin was pointing at his Obama sticker, which I found hilarious).

And they're not gun nuts...they never said they'd like to carry with them machine guns down the streets of san francisco, shooting pidgeons as they stroll through the park. Damn, never thought the cultural divide was this big just with our friendly neighbors to the north...

I wasn't trying to start any kind of discussion about being pro/anti guns. I was just stating my discomfort at the discussion as someone who lives in a country where guns aren't really an issue in any respect. I wondered if it was just me or if others were a bit weirded out by it too. If anything I was hoping to perhaps spark a discussion of the cultural divides that we come up against with shows like this being seen by people all around the world.

Kevin, come on really......the barack hussein obama sticker. Diggnation is an awesome show; the couch makes it feel like we are boys. Over these past couple of years so many of Alex and your memories closely chronicled my own. I know every American is entitled to their political opinion (bless the fallen heroes for that), but I did not need to see it so prominently displayed on your notebook. It is quite evident where Digg and Revision3 stand during this election. I think that is why I enjoyed Diggnation so much, for the 30 to 45 minute escape from being an adult, and just having a good time.

There is a law much higher than that of man, and barack hussein obama will not only violate it a little, but shatter it along with our salvation. I can no longer side with those knowingly brining such a wrath.
