all 4 seasons.

first of all - i wouldn't have even started the show if it wasn't for this show/board, so i have to say thanks.

once i started season 1, i couldn't watch anything else until i was finished. and it was amazing....

...until the last 60 seconds. then they ended it in exactly the way i hoped they wouldn't.

Its not over yet! The show is coming back January I think, don't remember how many episodes left but I'm pretty sure there is a sizable chunk left.

To me it's the most overrated boring show ever that is very EMO.

The show is not over yet.

Also I think that BSG being "emo" might be the most absurd criticism I've ever heard.

lol. Aren't we over the whole "Emo" label? Really?

Show is a little dark.... check
Show deals with serious human issues...... check
Show has characters that respond with emotion in emotional situations.... check

Well.... the diagnosis is in.... we have a "very EMO" show...

I think the show is sci-fi at it's best. Using a hypothetical set of circumstances to evaluate and study the effect on these circumstances on human character and actions. I will say that I think the show stumbled a little midway through the last season, but I believe a lot of this stuff will payoff in the home stretch.

It only shows one emotion in the show. Depression.
Even in dark times people find ways to smile and break away every so often...but not BSG it's just one depressing thing after another and they drag it out as much as they can. Season 3 was the biggest boo hoo thing ever then 4 is was the old man breaking into a boo hoo fest in his office and then whats this end it mid season to wait 8 months (from when it ended) to get the last half.
BS they are dragging it more.
Nothing ,not even one tiny thing good ever happens to these people.

No if I want great Sci fi I watch DS9 or Firefly.
BSG is just a big dragged out melodrama. I used to respect Moore but he has become another Braga.

They've depicted the holocaust of the human race.

It's called being authentic.

This is like criticizing the book "Night" for no comedic relief

then stop trying to disguise itself as a sci fi when it's not.
And it's still dragged out far too long.

It's sci-fi. It's just not obsessed with toys and gadgets and aliens in makeup. It's more concerned with being a good story.

In that vein it's one of the most valid and best pieces of science fiction ever put on TV. Science Fiction is one of the best genres to explore humanity and do amazing things with story telling but it's often untapped because Sci-Fi has come to mean nothing but phasers and light sabers.

And it's still dragged out far too long. This man has a strong grip on logic.

I like Sci-Fi
I don't like BSG
therefore, BSG isn't Sci-Fi

False syllogism at it's best.

To say that BSG only depicts sadness and melodrama is a gross oversimplication. Yes, there is a lot of anger and sadness depicted, but it is a show about the attempted genocide of the human race. Do you level the same critisisms at a film like Schindler's List? Not only that but the show also has some of the most touching and inpiring father-son moments I've seen on television. We have many scenes of true mateship between Adama and Tigh and these serve to underscore and provide grounding for Adamas reaction. Not only that, but there are actually real relationships depicted on the show, in a realistic manner. I'm a huge Star Trek fan, but this is one area that Galactica has it beat hands down. I like to think BSG is about mankinds struggle. It's about finding out what it really means to be human. Star Trek is set in a hypothetical period beyond this, when mankind has clear understanding of itself and it's place in the universe. Watching BSG isn't a downer for me in the slightest. The subtle moments of triumph and hope pack even more punch for the fact that they occur in the face of such dire circumstance.

I'd also like to point out that Emo should be reserved for teen angst, and not just applied to everything dramatic.

Like Johnnysix pointed out, Schindler's List isn't emo.

beets, bears, battlestar galactica.

On that note, The Office has become shitty and contrived lately.
