Hey guys,
(Vista Question)
I've been trying to change the User Name on my computer. Using the Control Panel, didn't get me very far... I no longer want it to say:
"C:Users\MYNAME\Desktop...."
How do I change it!?!?

uhm. Vista?
This is how to in XP (may still be valid in Vista=) )
LOG ON AS ADMINISTRATOR! (the account - "administrator".)
In case you don't remember the password, sign into your account.
Now press the windows button on your keyboard, and start typing
"command". Right click and select "run as administrator".
Now that the command line is opened, write (without the quotes)
"NET USER ADMINISTRATOR thisisyournewpasswordforthisaccount"
Sign out. Log in as administrator using "thisisyournewpasswordforthisaccount" as your password.
Now, start - right click on Computer, select Manage.
Head down to "local users and groups". Select "USERS".
Right click on the user name of choice. Click on "RENAME" - Put the name you would like to use. Click on OK and your done.
Now, all you have to do is to sign out and back in again.
