So far this season is the best yet. I can't stand Jim being away but the second episode was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. From Jim finding Angela in Dwight's room and thinking she was a hooker to Michael putting on the black light and they find stains EVERYWHERE. Comic gold.

Lol, I love when Dwight tries it out and he's like, "It works!" and then it goes off on him. Funniest reaction ever.

I had watched the uk version prior to me getting into this one and I think both are brilliant. This season has been absolutely fantastic.
I at first thought I wouldn't want jim gone (I iniatially thought he had left the show but was glad that the camera men followed him to his new job) but once I saw him at his new office I really liked it. When he puts the guys stapler in jello like he did to Dwight and the guy goes apeshit and kicks the trash bin and stuff
><
And when that female coworker talked aobut how jim keeps looking at the cameras and making faces hahah
I looooove it :)

I also liked the adoption thing in the beginning "I don't even know if I'll want a baby in eight months" haha... and pams date with the cartoonist "I just kinda think about stuff I see. Or dream them." I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that. Love this show.

I love that BJ Novak, who plays Ryan "fire guy" Howard, is a writer for the show.
Let's see if anyone who watches Premium Blend remembers this.....back when Stephen Lynch was becoming more popular, more and more music comedians were coming out. Out comes this kid, like, 22 who's in a suit with long hair and a guitar and he sings a song that goes, "Particle board, all my furniture is made of particle board. It's all I can afford particle board." That was BJ!!!

I totally agree. It's not about the punchlines, but about how the actors perform the joke.
Also, anyone else think Creed's completely losing his mind? I mean, yeah, he's already been crazy, but seriously.
Also, what do you guys make of it when Jim said, "I just put it all on the line... twice." We know about the one time it happened.

I dunno, I don't think it's that complicated. He did lay himself on the line twice. He was crying when he told her and said sorry for misinterpreting it. Then he overhears her conversation with her mom and decides to go for it again. That's not an easy thing to do.

dude, then I would wanna kick tobyy's ass. Pam is mine. Either mine or Jim's. End of story. It does seem, though, that Roy will try and win her back and he WAS introduced into the season as a very sympathetic character, crying vowing to win her back, etc. we might end up hating pam? I like that it's taking a slightly different direction.

Alot of the cast on the show were originally working in the background on the show before getting cast. The lady that plays Florence (I think thats her name) was the casting driector and they like her doing the reads so they put her on the show. BJ Novak along with writing is also a producer who wasnt originally cast, same the guy that plays Tobey.

Not only does he treat Meredith (who, by the way, ate hand sanitizer because it had alcohol in it) like she's new....he calls Angela Andrea.
One question. In the second episode, Angela's talking to the camera and she's like, "Why are there flies in here?" That never comes back. What was the point?

MICHAEL: One for the road gentlemen?
JOSH: A Shot of Maduri, perhaps
*Everybody laughs*
JIM: Oh no sorry, it's an inside joke. There was this bartender in Stanford who... you know what, you'd just have to be there.
MICHAEL: Wish I was, I love inside jokes. Love to be a part of one someday.
JOSH: Alright, we should uh...
MICHAEL: Yeah see you guys down there. Change your mind, come back up
Dwight: I'll do a shot with you Michael.
MICHAEL: Ech, gross, it's not even lunch yet.
JAN: Well Michael I... I underestimated you.

I think they are going to hold off any jim and pam moments until mid season. It builds this suspense. What would further build that is if maybe they had a phone conversation prior to them meeting face to face for the first time since casino night (assuming jim went to australia right after that and then to corporate right after australia).
Or they could suprise us next episode and have jim barge into michael's office for some wierd reason ("I really feel like annoying dwight today, so i took a day off")

I think they'll merge the offices together this season, much like they did in the BBC version. The cast in Jim's branch is way too good to just be extras like Creed. Plus they're generally sticking with the plot outline the BBC version went by. Carell has a busy movie schedule ahead of him, so this could be his last season as a Dunder-Mifflen Regional Mangager.

If it's true love, nothing could ruin it.
The jokes that Jim's character, who's name I can't remember right now does to Gareth (Dwight's character) are so much funnier. One that sticks out which is VERY you had to be there is when Gareth's phone starts ringing, and the second you pick it up, Jim's character just says "cock" and hangs up the phone. It's hilarious, but again, not funny when I type it.

I freakin love the Office (both UK and US), but i must say. Am i the only one who is thinking that this season is not shaping up to be as good as last season? I thought the first episode wasn't all that funny compared to past episodes, this 2nd episode was better, but still it's just not doing it for me compared to what it was last season. I think it is the lack of the direct jim/pam/dwight triangle - the best dynamic in all of sitcomdom if you ask me... It is still good and I will still watch it religously... but i dunno, i am just waiting for the day when Stanford absorbs Scranton and i'm hoping it comes before the end of the season...

I just watched last weeks episode of Office, and let me tell you. I think it is probably the funniest show on the Tele right now. The writing is incredible. The acting is just great. Steve Carrell is just awesome. I have it up there with Seinfeld right now, it's just that good.

last night's episode was great. i do think they missed a prime plot though...hear me out and see if you think this would have been a good way to go.
at the start jim is sending dwight faxes with dwight's stationary...pretending to be "future dwight" (which was great). i think when they heard that the scranton branch was closing dwight should have been really calm about it and acted like it wouldn't happen. he would have put togther that "future dwight" still had dundler mifflin stationary...meaning that everything would be okay. he should have tried to convince everyone that the jobs wouldn't be lost..saying he knows certain things he can't share at the moment. then when the branch is saved he could be all "see...told you there was nothing to worry about." maybe end with jim sending him another fax.
ryan getting 1000 business cards hit home. my last job i worked there for 2 years and didn't get any business cards until the first week of my 2 weeks notice. i put them everywhere...

There is no way that that scene was not written and filmed and ultimately cut because there was so much other stuff they had to get to in the episode. Maybe they could have held this episode off until next week when they are doing the 40 minute episode deal because there was obviously more stuff filmed that didnt make it and the dwight from the future would have been a sweet callback. Half hour tv shows have so many deleted and cut scenes thats it crazy. Does anyone know if The Office dvd's have deleted scenes on them?
But yeah the episode was good they should have done more with dwight from the future but still excellent. Is the guy that sat in front of Jim coming to Scranton as well? Because it would be funny to see him as the new guy after pulling the ive been here longer than you shit he was playing on Jim.

They're still around, they're from Sweden and still have a good following there. They've several albums since "First Band on the Moon" which had lovefool on it, their best album being "Long Gone Before Daylight" which came out in 2001. They're latest album is pretty good also, Super Extra Gravity, I got an import copy of it from Sweden in January as I couldn't wait for an american release that was unslated at that time. The single of the album they're currently pimping to the indie rock stations is "I need some fine wine, and you need to be nicer" It's good stuff, definitley worth a listen.

Dude accepted the job at staples last week, and in previous eps they mentioned stores like office depot and staples putting them out of business, so I guess it didn't spark as that big a deal to me. 30 rock on the other hand talked about how good snapple tasted, then cut directly to a snapple commercial and made it painfully obvious.

hehe. the 30 rock snapple thing was almost at waynes world level of spoofery. And, yeah, it was really anoying to see the big Staples sticker on the shredder and then see an ad for the same thing during the break. I don't know what to think of it. Part of me would rather they just keep doing it more subtly (of course, not at all would be best), but at least they poked fun of it in 30 rock with the GE oil drilling thing (which of course was just another ad itself).
The even wierder thing is that I think earl this week was a placement ad for global warming and recycling. What the hell is NBC doing? It's like they are trying to apear like they have a guilty conciense about it.

The whole thing with these three shows having the product placement was pretty obvious and I think NBC threw down a mandate for the shows to do that and 30 Rock showed that by showing the meeting and the upper management wanting more product placement and making fun of the situation by using the show within a show, either that or is a coincidence that all three shows featured product placement and one of the episodes was complately about product placement being forced on a show. But even though it was obvious it was really funny especially the salad stuff and it didnt bother me at all.

difference between pam and karen? KAREN WASN'T ENGAGED! Sure, Pam was undecided this entire time, but Jim was playing with HER heart as much as she was with Jim's. They both played the oblivious card whenever it came up and never actually said "I like pam" "I like Jim" to really anyone or each other. It's assumed by the last episode of the 2nd season that Pam would talk to her mom about Jim all the time and even discussed her feelings for him. Jim talked to Michael.
they never spoke until right before pam was supposed to get married. Jim screwed PAM (in a bad way), b/c why wait till right before a girl is getting married? That's jerky. Make a move!
Angela didn't have any of these complications and hers seemed like a more immediate infatuation than actual LOVE grown from years of working together and intimate companionship and being actual best friends!
Pam had a decision: Marry a man you don't love, but are tied to due to your bad decision to settle for him, or drop your entire life and everything you've planned for years and hoped would work for years for someone who you think you could love and probably do, but what if that doesn't work out?
Pam is not the type of girl to make that kind of decision right away b/c she's too "safe" (look at her job!). So I say don't blame Pam, blame the situation, and **** THAT INFATUATED *****. PAM LOVES JIM and we all know that although Jim might be trying to move on, JIM LOVES PAM.

Jim has every right to move on. Is he honestly gonna talk about his feelings for Pam when she's engaged? How would that look? He would be the office douche bag! Then he realizes it's really happening and he panics and tells her. We've all been there!
Again........Karen's single and flirts. Therefore Jim made a move. Obviously if Pam hadn't been single he would have made a move on her as well but he realized how delicate the situation was.
In closing.......Jim's the perfect guy.

See, but although Jim used discretion, that discretion led him to choose the WORST time for Pam to reveal that he loved her. The WORST. His discretion, then, turned out to be more cowardice than anything else, b/c then he put PAM in the WORST positiong ever, and that's JUST like a ****ing GUY to do that. haha.
Seriously, though, Karen's obvious and single and seemingly desperate, but she doesn't have the relationship with Jim that Pam did and I think Jim's closed off in a way that nobody ever will and that's what will bring Pam and Jim back together, b/c of all they've been through together, they deserve each other. The distance caused Pam to realize what she did and just like Jim held off till the worst moment to come to his epiphone, so did Pam.
Jim IS one of the best guys ever, therefore Karen (the douchebag) doesn't deserve him. Pam has paid her dues and she deserves him more than anyone else.

Or something? I'm all about her finding happiness with my main man Jim.

That's so tough, Andy brings some freshness to it, but I just love to hate Dwight. I'm just happy to see them both fail miserably and bickering with each other the entire way through.
Truly, the breast feeder from Stamford needs to go, she just annoys me.

Awesome episode writen by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The part where Toby had to explain to Michael that everyone doesnt really think prison would be better than Dundler Mifflin was priceless, as was the Andy hitting on Pam stuff.

For me, the best part of last night's Office was Michael restraining Dwight after he tells him about the convict in the office.
There was just no hesitation on Dwight's part. He was going to do something about it, and right now!

I was all excited about the hour long episode all week. And when Thursday rolled around I completely forgot about it because I was packing for ym flight back home. Thankfully I got to see it this morning and it was great :D
Did anyone else find it weird that they brought back two completely different waitresses from Benihana? Also, I see what you're doing The Office writers, you're making Jim fall for Pam again but when he leaves Karen for her Pam will be wrapped up again with Roy, not cool. I liked Pam and Karen working together to mess with the co-workers, so let's just keep doing that, k?

I noticed they were different girls as well and thought for sure that we would end up finding out that were hookers that Michael and Andy picked up after not being able to convince the waitress to come with them.
The Pam goosebumps bit was really funny, but Kevins "I didnt see where the party was" line was probably the best of the episode.

Funniest part of the episode by far for me was when he marked his waitress so i could tell her apart and stared at the camera afterwards. Him telling jim afterwards that he did it kinda lessened the joke, since they pretty much felt they had to explain it to the audience, but nonetheless hilarious.

When Karen said "I don't think were taking this far enough," and Pam says " I just got goosebumps." THat was hilarious.
And what was up with Jim not taking the CIA prank? On that note I lost a little respect for Jim. THAT B***H!!!!!

I wonder who Michael is taking to Sandals, perhaps Jan? Doesn't seem likely but who else is there that would say yes to him... maybe Todd Packer?
My favorite moments of this ep. were "Jim, take New Years away from Stanley" and when Oscar came back during the party.

Im guessing Michael was talking to Jan, if only to (from a writing and plot perspective) to have Michael retain a single relationship however loose it is. They need to have something uplifting happen to Michael. Should lead to some halarity

It's subtleties like that that make the show so wonderful.
I was talking to my friend Teddy about the show, and what you notice is that you know so much about these characters. But they sneak facts in about them instead of making it obvious like so many other shows do (including Heroes) and it makes you feel like you're actually getting to know these people personally.

That was the single most difficult half hour for me to ever watch. I don't know if I can watch that again, as hilarious as some parts were.
And I've switched back to Team Pam....she could have so easily sabotaged that relationship but THAT is how much she loves Jim. Damn. When she was crying I felt horrible.

I thought this was the worst episode from any season. The Michael/Jan hook-up was poorly and unrealistically developed, Jim was being a stupid, Pam's sudden breakdown was overkill, and everybody else just sat in the background more than they usually do only they did nothing funny back there. It seems like they just phoned this one in.

I think they knew they wouldn't have as many viewers so it was shitty. We can handle that. It can't be the best every single time.
But Michael man......he's so painful!!!! She's gonna find out, you know she is.

I'm not the type of person who is insanely obsessed with TV shows to the point that when things happen on the show, I go out and start googling for cast info or plot lines.
The only thing I can guess is, I'm sure if he was "off" the show, we would have heard about it already in this thread.
My prediction is he will be back next episode. *Maybe* the episode after that.
On a side note, PBS here ran a BBC Office marathon over the weekend or somthing (it's on my Tivo at least), and I was feelin kinda shitty so I watched a bunch of them. God damn, that show is amazing. US Office == funny as ****. BBC Office == sublime and otherworldly. :D
