I guess the first sold well enough that they're doing a sequel.

I almost bought NMH the other day, but got Dragon Quest Swords instead (nostalgia factor - I haven't played a DQ game since the first on NES). It was only $18.83 brand new, so I'll go pick it up if my PS3 isn't back by the time I complete DQS.

No More Heroes is a pile of crap. I rented the game and couldn't even be bothered to play on after the first level. They're going to have to go some to turn a sequel into something worth playing.

Allow me to counter Wes by saying that No More Heroes is not only one of the best experiences on the Wii, but some of the most fun I've had with a game all year.
Sure, the game has its share of problems. The graphics seem a step behind the capabilities of the Wii. Driving around the city was tedious since the world was so under developed. The potty humor of the game was frequently bottom of the barrel.
One the other hand, the fights against the other top assassins were incredible, and only got increasingly better as the game continues on. The homages to other movies and games were a welcome touch. Most of the time I found the games sense of humor pretty entertaining.
Wes, I'd recommend giving the game another shot and try getting as far as the second assasin (second one you face, not second ranked). I wasn't sold on the game after the tutorial level and my first drive through the city either, but it quickly became the game I had difficulty putting down.
I'll definitely check the second one out. Hopefully they can further refine some of the games many issues to make it a completely great experience, instead of a bunch of great experiences in a mediocre wrapper.

I am also a huge fan of No More Heroes. I know it got mediocre reviews and didn't sell crazy, so I'm very happily surprised to see a sequel coming.
All of the non-overworld stuff in No More Heroes was amazing. And I didn't even mind the overworld that much either, but it was far from great. Getting around the city got 100x easier when I learned how to make the bike slide into turns.
It's still my Wii game of the year for this year, and I don't see anything coming out that'll knock it down.

If someone can teach Suda how to design a decent camera I might give NMH2 a try.
The combat was innovative, but did nothing for me. If this uses MotionPlus, now that might be fun.

A 360/PS3 version may interest me, but not a Wii version.

For some reason I assumed this was some sort of petition to get rid of Heroes. I intend to act like it is.
Signed.

I'll always be a huge fan of Suda51, since I loved Killer7 so much. No More Heroes definitely had some issues, but was overall a really well crafted game. I can only hope that a sequel will take it even further.
