A million fanboys cry out in pain...as the XBOX 360 gets another Playstation staple with the Tekken series.

Personally, I think all 3rd-party games should be multi-platform.
Consoles should be more about choice of controller, choice of features, and the widest selection of games possible. It's only good for the gamers and the publishers ought to do it to make the most out of their investments.
I am glad PS3 is getting BioShock, even over a year late. And turns out I like Eternal Sonata enough to consider buying that, too.
Even if I did care a lot about losing exclusivity - who cares? It's Tekken. ;)

I agree. Mostly because I want LBP on the 360.
But totally, I think all games should come out on all machines. And I hate it when people don't think it's a good idea. It's not like BioShock coming out on PS3 is gonna make it impossible to play on 360.
But not too excited about Tekken 6. I'm with Dan on this genre. To me it's just new avatars. It's just another skin on Tekken 3. I used to love fighting games, but every time I pick a new one up I feel like "I already played this, a billion times before"

LBP won't happen on 360, since Sony owns the IP. Just like Halo won't happen on PS3.
Unless, you know, miracles happen.

Console exclusives help guarantee longterm console viability. Exclusives that are worth a damn sell systems. The more systems sold the more likely that your console investment will last long term. If your console sales slow down around 20 million, the manufacturer will speed up the transition to the next iteration and drastically reduce support for the current system (see Xbox and Gamecube as examples). Or even worse, they drop support and quit making consoles altogether (See Dreamcast). If your console sales are extraordinarily strong, the lifetime of the system is greatly extended (PS2).
If every game came out for every system, you aren't going to have people running out to buy a 360 to get Gears 2. If there aren't many people making the same console choice that you did, then 3rd party developers have to reconsider whether or not their cross-platform release should really be ported over. It might not be cost effective for a smaller, niche title. If you were one of the people that waited to get a PS3, you'd see less people buying one if they could just pick up MGSIV and LBP on the 360. Of course, we'll never see that scenario with first party games anyway, but that is one reason we'll always have first party games.
Personally, exclusives make no difference to me. I tend to buy every system available, so I am never in a situation where it isn't possible to play something.
I'm also not that excited by Tekken. My time with fighting games is long past. I don't have the interest level it takes to spend enough time with one of these games to actually be competitive in random online play, and I don't really have any friends that are still interested in these games.

I know it won't happen. But I just really want to play LBP :)

I never really thought of Tekken to be a Playstation brand game. To me, it's always been arcade first, console second so I don't see why it wouldn't branch out.

Well, that may be the case for you, but for me, I haven't seen an actual arcade in about 20 years.* So I think that your perspective on this kind of thing really depends on where you live.
* - aside from the Playdium in Toronto, which I believe closed. I was only there to attend the private launch party for Pseudo Interactive's cel-shaded vehicle combat game, Cel Damage.

Tekken 3 was the reason I made it through my pregnancy without killing anyone. I was a little moody. But kicking ass on Tekken was a great release. I am so excited.

3 games after Tekken 6 and it's look like we're getting a(nother) graphical update and some new characters.
Due to one of the greatest flaws of the Internet, my next comment might come of as sincere and positive. It is in fact ironic and negative.
Totally worth the money.

I MUCH prefer the Tekken series over Soul Calibur. I dunno, Soul Calibur just doesn't do it for me. (I finally found a buyer and am selling it tomorrow for $40 in MINT condition) Although I've been DYING to play a DOA game on the PS3 ever since I played DOA 2 on the Dreamcast. :D
