It's not even 9am yet and already I've seen two spam posts advertising products and (probably) stolen merchandise.
What, do we have a big target on our backs or what?

Someone's been working on a forum spam bot for about six months now. It's only recently that the bot has been getting really annoying.

What, do we have a big target on our backs or what?Just be glad the janitors have cleaned up the other 5 that appeared. Actually, if one of the other mods had been on the ball, when they deleted the thread and banned the user that appeared in another forum, they would have searched and deleted all 4 the spambots created.

I guess the problem is that one of the other mods doesn't realize that modding is a responsibility, not a privilege.

That would be me, I noticed the bot had 4 posts, I deleted one post and went searching for another post and saw it was gone so I thought someone else was on it, so I went ahead and banned to help save some time. Just clarifying.

seriously, though, dromies have NO reason to complain about spam. General discussion gets like 23049823049823094283049238 spam threads a day, as do the computer ones. The other mods really do a lot more spam watching than I do...although...if you guys could see who catches 95% of them, you'd believe what I believe which is the following:
Tokenuser has a psychic link to when SPAM is posted on these forums and therefore catches all of it within the minute. Either that or he's on Australia time...or he plants all of them to make himself look as mighty as he is.

It's like when I'm at work and clients complain about an increase in spam getting to their inboxes. They aren't seeing how much more we're blocking. For the few messages we do see, many more are being deleted.
