Hi,

I'm having this problem, where my iTunes hangs after running for some time (Usually after several hours) The problem is not consistent, sometimes it happens sometimes it don't. When it hangs, the sound will repeat itself in a loop (sort of like CD skipping), and the sound won't go off even if I terminate iTunes. I'll have to wait for some time after closing iTunes for the sound to go off. And when i try running it again, it wouldn't start, although I can see the iTunes.exe process running in task manager. Whenever I have this problem, the only way to resolve it is to restart my PC, in the process of shut down, there will be a message saying that windows is unable to shut down because some application is running, and prompt me to close that application. That application is " windows sound - playing logging off sound ". I have search all over the net for a solution but didn't seem to find one.
Because the problem occurs not consistently, I was not able to get a screen shot of it. However, I will try to get a screen shot next time the error happens.

Below are details of my pc:

Dell Inspiron 6400
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC ( integrated sound card )
latest version of iTunes
also running SRS Audio Sandbox

thank you
