In Vista, I find it helpful to have the Favorites folder always on the Desktop cause
I have a natural tendency not to nurish them enough. Then I can just drag
the favicons from the address bars to save them. And because this folder has
some magical properties it automatically saves them in the right place so it will
show up on the browsers one.
Another thing I like to do to help me nurish more my Favs is to save other files
there, so that I get to be more in touch.
It may seem all quite silly, I can agree.

Also from time to time you may merge that Favs folder with a previous one you might have in a USB disk for instance. Just drag the folder into the older one. It is a pitty you will then have to accept the merge for each file and folder. Otherwise would be a neat and fast way to keep tracking different versions of your Favs.
