Finding the right laptop seems really hard. I don't want to spend a lot of money one one. Less than $600 would be nice. I want it to run smooth, wireless internet, dvd play and at least handle Half Life 2.
Any suggestions?

You need to pony up some cash for the gaming notebooks!! You could buy a really decent one for about $1500

everything but the HL2 is easy...one that'll play HL2 semi-smoothly...don't expect to pay less than $1000...and that's only if you're really lucky

That won't handle HL2. You need to look for used I guess. A six-month old low-end Core Duo with some sort of graphics card (not integrated) might just be within reach.

finding the right laptop isnt hard its just that it requires patience... i found myself a nice laptop for about 1600 CAD meaning its about 15XX or something like that usd and its kickass i mean its widescreen 15.4" nvidia go 7200... not the best but its suitable, 2 gig ram, dual core 1.8ghz, xp home (buying vista in neer future so no point in keeping home) its fast its sleek it was cheaper then anyother place so i was like **** yah! [ oh if you wana know which laptop ive got its the Hp Pavillion dv6040CA or something like that]
