Just bought it today and haven't read it. But when i got to my local comic shop there was an alternate cover(He's wearing all brown instead of his normal suit). On marvel.com they say nothing about a second cover or a variant cover. So do any of you know what this may be? if so tell me, because the comic shop and myself are pretty damn confused.

It's a 4 issue mini-series #1 just out today

From Marvel.com

The Story: A searing vision of Spider-Man’s future, brought to you by superstar Kaare Andrews (INCREDIBLE HULK).
They finally did it. Kicked them to the curb. The “capes and tights” crowd -- there’s no place for them in the Big Apple anymore. Peter Parker? He can’t even remember what it was like to don the red and blue and swing through the night sky. Doesn’t want to, anyway. After all, there’s nothing left to fight for, is there? That is until an old “friend” appears on Peter’s doorstep, bearing a package and a message -- and everything changes. If it’s not Peter’s responsibility, then whose is it?

PP: "HONEY!!! Where's my super suit?"
MJ: "What?"
PP: "Where - is - my - super - suit?"
MJ: "Why - do - you - need - to - know?"
PP: "You tell me where my suit is, woman we're talking about the greater good!"
MJ: "I'm your wife, Peter! I'm the greatest good you're ever gonna get!"

(The above scene was a dramatisation of "The Incredibles" as performed by Peter Parker, and Mary Jane ... for MJ, it all about method acting, and getting into character ... I think this helped her a lot)

duuude, get on that civil war thread, seriously. everyone's agreed with me except for poltah on #5. #6 should be in two weeks, or so I think. hell yeah. Anyway, who's drawin spidey for this shitty reign comic?

i never usually pick anything up that's villain-of-the-week, or that derives too far off the real continuity unless it's something that happens in the continuity and is a side not or a look back like Spiderman:Blue (hella good).

anyway, let me know whether or not to spend time on this shit.

I just read it (got the brown suit cover too).

Reign is Dark Knight Returns. Spider Man is old and retired and the world is run by fascists with smiley faces. I thought it was well written and I liked the art but its amazing how blatantly they are ripping off Miller here. One of the newscasters (yes, it utilizes talking head newscasters just like Miller always does) is named Miller Jansen, as in Frank Miller and Klaus Jansen.

So anyway, fairly good read but lacking in originality.

#6 should be in two weeks, or so I think. hell yeah.

Civil War #6 has apparently been delayed to Jan 3rd. Luckily the only tie-in that will also get the delay is Punisher War Journal #2. Civil War #7 has also been bumped out to Jan 31st.

I read it. I didn't like it. You know why I didn't like it? I'll tell you.

Because the first issue looks to be just another ****ing story about how freedom is SO IMPORTANT, and the goverment are EVIL when trying to protect people.
And I've seen and read that story af ****ing billion times, and I'm sick and tired of being told that if the government starts making more laws to protect people, they become evil.

And this is why I won't pick it up. That annoyed the hell out of me in Dark Knight, and in EVERY SERIES SINCE. Seriously, what's the point of having art where it's ONLY people talking in front of microphones? It's a waste of space!

Ill pick the this up in trade because the story sounds interesting and Kaare Andrews is a good and talented dude. Loved his Nazi wolverine issue he did with Millar.
