How do well established shows like these get booted yet the new ones and the Rev3 beta shows were only recently brought in. They haven't had time to gain a following, shows like Popsiren and Internet Superstar were two of the most popular shows.
This decision sucks a bit, although I guarantee there's tonnes I and everyone else isn't privy to. Shame still.

Online petition ... wow ... seriously?
How about holding a bake sale as well?

Online petitions are less likely to bring a show back than a letter writing campaign.
I'm gonna miss PS and the girls too, but you have to know that online petitions mean nothing unless they come out with a ton of renewable dollar signs.

Sure, I'll start baking now ;)
...anyway, I know a petition's not gonna do anything... I'm just sad to see the shows, and more importantly - great guys/girls go :/
If it helps to show that we care even a little bit...then whatever, I'll sign it.

Yeah petitions are as useful as tp. But if you really want to show your support or anger just don't watch any Rev3 show. Its that simple. They have to track there numbers of downloads or page hits to there add buyers. Hit them where it counts.
Sad to see that a company that preaches how to be the next gen in content cant even manage it right. From this point on I will not view any Rev3 show. They follow and pull the same games as any network TV. Only thing that Rev3 did is reinvented the medium but not all the other BS.
And only if I can hear one more company complain its about the down turn we are in. It really sucks for them not to make 500 million a year profit so we need to cut jobs. WTF. We the people need to stand up and unite against these company's and shut them down. We need to boycott them till there are gone.
And sad thing is Jim the wonderful CEO can't figure out that when money is tight that people will shut there cable off before there internet. What a shame that Jim turned Rev3 into a sinking pile of steamy pooh pooh.

That's an excellent point.
On the other hand, there are practically no barriers to entry to producing a decent web TV show these days, and Revision3 have helpfully trained up all the talented people behind PopSiren.
So what I'd really like to see as Sarah & some friends produce their own show, on their own terms, in their own time. And make it even more awesome than PopSiren used to be.

You take a company that laid off 1/3 of its workforce, then deprive them of any revenue stream so they are forced to shut down for good.
That'll teach them.
Do you really think that JLo and Praeger get some sort of pleasure from firing people they have worked with at Revision3 and other previous endeavours?
Its a shame that people dont realise that when money is tight in a company, they dont have the option of shutting off cable. They need to either grow revenue (not an option in the current market - finding advertisers is not an easy process), or cut expenses. Unfortunately the single largest expense at any company is payroll.
Its sad that it had to come to this. Revision3 lost some good people today at a time when the very market that caused the company to tighten its belt is crippling the job market they are going to have to go hunting in ... and yet you are being an ass and whinning about losing some free content online.
Sleep well tonight.

i swear to god token you were the kid that reminded the teacher that she forgot to assign homework.

On the other hand, when money is tight, MOST people don't just cut their own hearts out either.
That might save money on grocery and heating bills, but it also leaves you somewhat, uh, dead.

So, he was the kid you tried to cheat off of because you couldn't "talk good" in English class?
Petitions will do nothing, do not waste your time.

Fair enough, but please understand people, the show is not coming back. I am pretty sure by "the show" you mean with Heather, Sarah and Moujan. But they don't work for Revision3 anymore, which dumbfounds me.
Sad? Extremely.
But no need to freak out. People thought the end of TechTV was the end of the world.

Grow up. Maybe come back when you have a grip on economic reality.

Yes it's very interesting how the "bad economic crisis" coincided with the fact that they apparently weren't getting the viewership they wanted.
The "economic crisis" is an excuse (and perhaps it did contribute, but in no way do i believe it's the full reason, or even the most significant) to make the userbase of rev3 feel as though this was out of managements control.
In reality, they were going to axe the talent regardless if the economy was good or bad, just like the axed neha.
If you don't perform, you are out.
Which is a real sad state of affairs, because regardless if the show was doing hot or not, there is no doubt in my mind that they are all very talented and they should still have had a place at revision3.

I would have paid for content! I for one canceled my cable a long time ago. Not because of the downturn but because the shows are lame. I rather watch Sarah, Martin, Jay and others any day when I want. I already do pay for netflix and other online content like starz.
But besides the point is Rev3 shows are pretty cheap to produce. They spent the big money back when they built there studio. Other than payroll they were set. BTW did you know if Rev3 can get paid up to 30 bucks a head for people they get to sign up?
And to think they could grow in this market right now. Your smoking something.
Sad thing is Corps just scared and lay off people which makes the problems worse.

Are you serious? If anything, Pop Siren should probably never have come into existence in the first place. It was well produced, and had some interesting content, but I get the feeling that its genesis was a matter of trying not to be in some way impolitic -- or just hoping there really was a geek-girl audience out there...experimenting, pushing the envelope, trying to expand the base, or whatever. Hey, they tried. Would you prefer they hadn't? Valiant effort. Didn't work. Times are tough. Things get axed. I reckon Jim and company are trying their best to run a business that makes money. Payroll is, ya know, a big expense.
Grow up.
Such a weird sense of entitlement out in internet-land....

Wow your a tool.
They already paid for that studio so very small up keep. They didn't move offices so location is still being paid for if there is only 5 employees or 1000. They maybe save 100 a month with 10 less employees on power.... oh big deal. Where they will save money is on there pay. And bandwidth? well is you listen to Jim no one watched so no money lost there.
And BTW bandwidth is pretty cheap when you buy in mass so that really shouldn't have matter that much. I work for a company that uses as much if not more than Google every month. We don't put out any shows or downloads its just backbone for one of the largest ip phone systems in the world.
If there shows were making at least the amount to cover there pay then this was a complete fail on Jim's part. Really for Rev3 to be the next big thing they will need to put double or triple the shows they have now. The easy add contracts might have dried up but even the small add contracts will make them huge money in the long run. But since they have VC old farts funding the show they will never make it.

It's your oppinion if you think the lay offs were unjustified, but there's no need to resort to name-calling simply because somebody's oppinion differs from yours.

Not to nitpick, but you should read this:
your =/= you're
there =/= their =/= they're.
It'd make YOUR post a lot easier to understand.
Oh, and namecalling is NOT cool. Although, I do agree with some of what you said.
