I was wondering if there is a way to capture the data that is transferred on a USB port when something is hooked up to one. The reason i was wondering is because i want to capture the data from my zune when i connect it to my computer so i can some how reverse engineer it. Anyone know how to do something like this.

Supposedly USB Sniff is able to do this in software.

What exactly are you trying to reverse engineer, the sync protocol? Does Songbird not support the Zune now? If so you might find protocol details in their source.

I just thought that the reason that you can't use it functionally like a external hard drive when hooked up to a computer without playing with the registry is, that it had something to do with what the firmware that boots from the zune that had a lot to do with it.
